According to the table, a few hands earlier Lucas Vergara had bet 1,000 in the dark going to the flop, only to spike a set of fours and bust another opponent who had eight-four. "The magic trick," Arnaldo Gordon said.
Dustin Wills then opened to 2,200 in early position and Phillip Sandlin called in the hijack, as did Vergara and Gordon in the blinds.
Gordon took a page from Vergara's book and bet 1,000 even before the 6♥8♥K♣ flop was dealt. Wills then raised to 4,000, and all three opponents, including Gordon, quickly folded.
"That works once every 500 times you try it," the dealer joked with Gordon.
