Daniel Negreanu the First to Bust

Negreanu out early
Negreanu out early
Ian Frazer, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Laak all saw a flop of {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Frazer held {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, Negreanu held {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Laak held {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

"Bye, bye, Daniel," said Phil Hellmuth when he saw the cards and flop from the commentating booth.

Frazer checked and Negreanu bet 25,000. Laak raised to 69,000 and Frazer folded. Negreanu thought for a while, trying to pick up a read on Laak. Eventually, he moved all in for 260,000 and Laak snapped him off.

The turn and river were the {4-Spades} and {K-Clubs} respectively and that was all she wrote for Negreanu. It'll be hard for him to come back from a zero in the first heat after running into a tough spot.

Super Metagame

Sick play from Schwartz
Sick play from Schwartz
Vanessa Rousso limped in holding the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} before Yevgeniy Timoshenko raised to 16,000 holding the {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. Luke Schwartz reraised to 36,000 holding the {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Rousso folded and then Timoshenko thought for a while. He put in another raise to 82,000, picking up on weakness from Schwartz. Almost right away, Schwartz moved all in for 274,000 and Timoshenko folded. Schwartz tabled his six high and the table went nuts. Phil Hellmuth was commentating and almost lost it on the mic.

Negreanu Misses Big Draw

Daniel Negreanu exercised some of his small-ball tactics by min-raising to 4,000 preflop with the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Vanessa Rousso called from the button with {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and the announcers got excited about the possible action to come. Negreanu checked and Rousso fired 6,000. Negreanu called.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and Negreanu fired 12,000. Rousso called.

The river was the {4-Hearts} and both players checked. Rousso won the pot with her two pair of jacks and tens, scooping the pot.
