Negreanu's Read a Little Off, But Still Correct

and a dominating hand.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}

and both players checked. The turn added the {9-Hearts}

{9-Hearts}

and both players put in 40,000, with Negreanu check-calling the bet from Hellmuth.

The river was the {J-Diamonds}

{J-Diamonds}

and Negreanu checked. Hellmuth fired 83,000 and Negreanu went into the tank.

"I have a feeling you made three jacks on the river," said Negreanu. "I feel Phil Hellmuth has queen-jack, a queen and a jack, and I cannot beat that so I'm folding." A correct read by Negreanu that he was beat even though Hellmuth didn't have those exact cards.
