Robinson Set Mines

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

The action folded around to Greg Robinson on the button and he limped in for 400. The small blind raised to 3,000. The big blind folded and Robinson called.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and the small blind bet 5,000. Robinson calmly called, and the turn brought the {7-Diamonds}.

The small blind moved all-in for around 11,000, and Robinson verbalized a call.

Robinson - {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Opponent - {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Robinson's set of fives were way out in front of his opponent's pair of queens, but he still had to fade the last card. The river came the {10-Spades}, sending the small blind to the rail.

Let's Talk About Sets

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

Jorge Galvan just won a big pot when he got all in three ways on the {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop.

He had {q-}{q-} and got in against {8-}{8-} and {3-}{3-} — all three players flopped sets and all got their chips in the middle as a result.

Galvan had the best of it and held up when the board ran out with the {j-Hearts} on the turn and the {7-Spades} on the river.

Cory Asbill
Cory Asbill

An early position raiser made it 700 to go and collected three calls before Cory Asbill three-bet to 2,700. One player called and the rest folded.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and the action checked to Asbill, who bet 4,500. His opponent called and the two went to the turn, which came the {a-Spades}. Both players checked and the dealer completed the board with the {a-Clubs}

The early position player led out for 7,000. Asbill thought it over for half a minute and then called.

"You're good," his opponent said, "I only have a nine," showing {k-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Asbill turned over {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a better two-pair and took down the pot.

A No Show Showdown for Travis Speck

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Travis Speck was one of six players to limp preflop.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Speck was the first to bet, making it 600 to go. The player on the button called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Speck bet 1,000. After some shuffling around of his chips, his opponent called again.

The river was the {3-Clubs} and Speck checked. His opponent bet 2,600 and Speck tossed out a single chip to call.

His opponent tossed his cards into the muck.

"Do I have to table?" Speck asked.

He didn't have to so he collected the pot and tossed his cards toward the muck.
