Quads for Mulder

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Teun Mulder and Joris Ruijs
Teun Mulder and Joris Ruijs

Teun Mulder opened from the hijack to 6,500. Pauli Ayras three-bet to 25,000 from the button and Mulder called.

Mulder check-called a bet of 20,000 after the {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades} came on the flop and check-called a bigger bet of 60,000 after the {4-Diamonds} came on the turn.

Both players checked after the {4-Spades} came on the river. Mulder turned over {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for quads.

"Nice runout," said Estonian poker legend Henri Kasper from the rail.

Mulder gave Kasper a nod as the dealer pushed over a nice pot his way.

Ruijs Misses Out on the Money

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Joris Ruijs
Joris Ruijs

Joris Ruijs limped in for 3,000 from under the gun, Pauli Ayras limped along in the cutoff, Tommie Janssen completed the small blind and Teun Mulder checked his option. On the {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop, Ruijs bet 11,000, Ayras called, and all other players folded.

The turn brought the {k-Spades} and Ruijs shoved all in for 49,600. Ayras beat the Dutchman into the pot with a call.

Joris Ruijs: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Pauli Ayras: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Ruijs needed the board to pair if he was to survive but the {4-Diamonds} on the river ended his tournament life instead.

Mulder Dominating the Small Ball

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

It's been all small ball since the dinner break with all the pots either taken down before the flop or with a single bet after the flop. Teun Mulder is taking the most advantage of this playing more than half the hands and has increased his chip-leading stack further.

Aldemir Doubles Through Adams

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Koray Aldemir
Koray Aldemir

Teun Mulder raised to 5,000 from middle position and Timothy Adams called on the button. Koray Aldemir three-bet shoved 31,400 from the big blind after dipping into his time bank. Mulder snap-folded, but Adams called after using one time card of his own.

Koray Aldemir: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Timothy Adams: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Aldemir flopped the world on a {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop and raked it in after the {5-Diamonds} turn and {10-Diamonds} river.

Ayras Eliminates Cates

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Daniel Cates
Daniel Cates

Pauli Ayras opened to 5,000 before Dan Cates jammed for 33,000. Ayras wasted no time to call and Cates seemed disappointed after he saw his {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} was dominated by his opponent's {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Cates was in further trouble after his opponent nailed a set on the {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board and needed a pair of runners for a save. He was drawing dead after the {q-Hearts} came on the turn. The {4-Hearts} made things official on the river and Cates was out the door in seventh place just short of the dinner break.

More Pressure from Mulder

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Koray Aldemir opened for 5,000 from the hijack before he called a three-bet of 16,200 from Teun Mulder from the small blind.

Aldemir fired out a continuation bet of 11,000 after the {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} came on the flop and got a call. Aldemir called a second barrel of 15,000 from his opponent after the {5-Diamonds} came on the turn.

The chamber emptied and Mulder jammed for more than 200,000 which more than covered the 45,000 Aldemir had left in his stack.

Aldemir used one of his time bank chips before he folded his hand and the dealer handed Mulder another pot.

Romero Railed by Mulder

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
James Romero
James Romero

Teun Mulder raised to 4,400 from middle position and James Romero three-bet shoved 29,400 two seats over. Koray Aldemir was in the big blind and briefly paused before cold-calling the shove. With just ten seconds to act preflop, Mulder used up a time extension before coming along with the call.

On the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop, Aldemir used a time extension before betting 8,000, which Mulder called. The {j-Spades} on the turn got checked by both active players.

The river brought the {7-Spades} and Aldemir used up another time bank card before checking. Mulder needed one extension chip as well before settling on a bet of 32,000. That was too much for Aldemir, who gave it up.

Mulder showed {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} for aces up, Romero had {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} for an inferior two pair and was eliminated in eighth place.
