Chino Rheem Eliminated

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem

Veli-Pekka Alakorva opened to 3,600 from early position and got calls from Teemu Salminen from one seat over and Chino Rheem on the button.

The action folded around to Rheem after the {5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, who jammed for around 40,000. Alakorva quickly folded and Salminen counted out his chips before he called.

Chino Rheem: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Teemu Salminen: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Rheem's bottom pair was behind Salminen's overpair and he was never able to catch up with the {5-Diamonds} coming on the turn followed by the {j-Hearts} completing the board on the river.

Another Scalp for Hannemann

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Mate Mecs got it all in for around a starting stack with {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} from middle position and Marvin Hannemann looked him up on the button with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. The board came down {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Mecs was ousted by the German.

Istsenko Busts Piira

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Sergei Istsenko
Sergei Istsenko

Sergei Istsenko opened to 2,500 from early position before Heikki Piira jammed for a little more than 10 big blinds from late position. Istsenko wasted no time and immediately called.

Heikki Piira: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Sergei Istsenko: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Piira's advantage in the hand when he got the money in quickly became a huge disadvantage after the {j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop gave his opponent two pair. Piira was down to just a gutshot straight draw to save his tournament life after the {6-Diamonds} came on the turn.

The {a-Diamonds} on the river paired Piira but didn't complete the straight and he was out of the tournament.

Schamburg and Trofimov Bumping Heads

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Two of the big stacks over at table 4, Julius Schamburg and [Removed:510], were colliding in a pot that already had up to around 100,000 in the middle. Trofimov, with a little over pot left, checked the {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} board to Schamburg. Schamburg took quite a while before deciding to check it back.

Trofimov showed {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}, assuming it was good after the check back, but Schamburg turned over {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the rivered trips to put a dent into the start of day chip leader's stack.

Action River

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Constantin Schmid bet 7,000 into a pot of around 16,000 on the turn with the {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} on the board and got a call from Kasper Mellanen.

Schmid then bet 15,000 after the {j-Spades} completed the board on the river. Mellanen asked Schmid to move his hands to see how much he had in his stack before he jammed for more than 100,000. Schmid with about 21,000 left in his stack made the snap-call.

Mellanen turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a rivered set. This wasn't good enough as Schmid doubled up after he turned over {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for the nut straight.
