Jachtmann Loses Some; de Meulder Builds Stack

Level 4 : 250/500, 500 ante

At the end of the previous level, a big pot emerged between Jan-Peter Jachtmann in the big blind and Benjamin Benoit on the button. The latter eventually check-called a bet worth 15,600 on the river of a board {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and Benoit claimed the pot with {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for top pair and top kicker.

Matthias de Meulder opened to 1,100 and Kristen Bicknell in the cutoff three-bet to 3,000. Manig Loeser called from the small blind, as did de Meulder. On the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Bicknell and her continuation bet of 3,500 picked up two callers.

After everyone checked the {J-Spades} turn, de Meulder bet the {10-Spades} river for 16,800 and neither opponent was willing to pay that.

Bullet Two for Michaelis

Level 4 : 250/500, 500 ante

Paul Michaelis was among those few that had played, ran out of chips and entered for the second time for bullet two. Jonathan Wong just recently sat down while the same also applies for Kenny Hallaert.

Always An Ace

Level 4 : 250/500, 500 ante
Wong pulls a pot away from Loeser
Wong pulls a pot away from Loeser

Manig Loeser raised to 1,300 from the cutoff, before Jonathan Wong put in the 3-bet to 4,000 from the big blind. Loeser put in the extra, as the two players went to a {q-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop. Wong gave it some thought, before tapping the table indicating a check Loeser quickly checked behind as the {4-Spades} came down on the turn.

Wong reached into his stack, and pulled out a bet of 5,800, which Loeser matched without much hesitation. Both players checked the {2-Spades} river, with Wong rolling over {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} at showdown. Two black kings were good enough to take it down, and Wong pulled in the pot.

Sander van Wesemael Calls Hossein Ensan’s Bluff

Level 4 : 250/500, 500 ante
Sander van Wesemael
Sander van Wesemael

Hossein Ensan checked it over to Sander van Wesemael on the flop of a board reading {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

van Wesemael bet 2,000 and Ensan called. The turn card was the {9-Hearts} and both players checked.

With the {2-Spades} completing the board and a door seemingly invitingly open, Ensan fired out a bet of 3,300. A one-chip call from van Wesemael saw Ensan’s cards hit the muck and van Wesemael collected the pot without showdown.

Ensan Drops Two Pots

Level 4 : 250/500, 500 ante

In a three-bet pot between Petr Liesner and Hossein Ensan, both players checked the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop before Liesner's bet of 12,000 on the {8-Clubs} turn won the pot uncontested.

Soon after, Moritz Dietrich raised to 1,300 and was called by Scott Hanna, Hossein Ensan and Kenny Hallaert in the big blind. The flop of {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Clubs} saw a bet of 2,200 by Ensan and Hallert called, as did Hanna. The three remaining players checked down the {7-Diamonds} turn and the {2-Spades} river. Hallaert flashed {K-Hearts}{10-Spades} and that ended up as the winner, as Ensan only had {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the slightly inferior kicker.

Hegele and Heidel in Need of Chips

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Both Robin Hegele and Oliver Heidel are on their first bullet and have one further thing in common: They are well below the starting stack. Both clashed in a hand button versus small blind and a pot of almost 20,000 built up until the {Q-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} turn.

Heidel checked and Hegele moved all in for 18,150, less than the pot. Heidel was very tempted and asked for the count, even tried to get more info via table chat. Ultimately, however, the German folded and Hegele raked in the pot without showdown.

Bad River For Benoit

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Benoit, as he wins a pot against Jack Sinclair
Benoit, as he wins a pot against Jack Sinclair

Jack Sinclair raised under the gun to 1,500, with Benjamin Benoit calling on the button, and both blinds making the fold. Sinclair not to continue on the {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop, with Benoit quickly checking behind.

The turn brought the {4-Spades}, which Sinclair lead for 1,500 before Benoit quickly, and awkwardly, dropped 5,300 over the line. Sinclair mimicked Benoit's bizarre hand position, and also dropped 5,300 into the pot, as the table enjoyed a chuckle before the {8-Diamonds} was dealt on the river. Sinclair checked, and was very quickly faced with a 20,000 chip bet.

After a 30-second dwell, Sinclair made the call and was shown {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a turned straight. "Bad river!" complained Benoit, as he was awarded the pot, "take it back and put a king!"

Small Pot as The Talk Looks To Rebuild

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
The Talk
The Talk

The Talk lost a good deal of his stack earlier in a pot to Van Tiep Nguyen and the chat has been reduced somewhat as he aims to regain some of his lost momentum.

The board at the river read {6-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} and The Talk led out from the small blind for 2,000. That got a fold from the small blind but Andreas Eiler on the button was in need of a few chips himself and after another look at his cards he called.

The Talk showed {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} and that took the pot as Eiler mucked.
