Quads For Kolovratnik

Level 1 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Kolovratnik shows Andrej Desset the bad news
Kolovratnik shows Andrej Desset the bad news

We join the action in a hand between Stepan Kolovratnik and back-to-back Grand Prix Poker Tour champion Andrej Desset, on a {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop. Kolovratnik check-called Desset's 15,000 bet, before the dealer burned and turned the {3-Clubs} to double-pair the board.

Both players checked the turn, with Kolovratnik leading out for 25,000 on a {j-Clubs} river. Desset quickly flicked in a purple 5,000-value chip to indicate a call, and was equally quickly shown the bad news when Kolovratnik turned over his {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} for quads.

Donev Thriving; King Gets Some Back

Level 1 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

On the tail end of a bigger pot between King and his table neighbor, the King's regular bet the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} river for 31,500 for around half the pot and his sole opponent called. King turned over {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a flush and got some chips back after losing a big pot previously.

As per King and Ivo Donev, the former raised to 8,000 and called a three-bet to 26,000 by King. On the {J-}{6-}{5-} flop, Donev check-called a bet of 20,000 before leading the {10-} turn for 80,000. King called and did so again for 100,000 on a blank river to show pocket tens for a set, while King saw his pocket aces cracked.

Andy Wool
Andy Wool

Andy Wool is known as “Dawhiteninja” online and is fast gaining a reputation as an MTT grinder to watch out for. As in life, so in poker, you need to grab your opportunities where you can, as Wool tweeted a while back that he “Miss clicked regged an $11 @partypoker German Poker Championship sat.”

Wool won his seat, sold a little bit to investors and jetted out from the U.K. to take a shot in this €1,000,000 GTD tournament.

Must be nice, as they say.

Michael Bruhn’s Jacks Get Rivered

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Three players made it to the turn of a board reading {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Andreas Gann led the betting for 55,000 and got a call from Michael Bruhn who had around 300,000 behind, while the third player folded.

The river card was the {k-Clubs} and Bruhn checked. Gann decided to check behind and turn over his {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} for a rivered top pair.

Bruhn gave a little grunt of disappointment as he turned over his losing {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

Gann won this hand but is internet infamous for a hand he eventually went on to lose versus Irish poker legend Donnacha O’Dea.

Luske Down a Ton

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

On the turn of a board {K-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, Marcel Luske called the shove of Albert Skobelev with {K-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for two pair and lost a ton of chips, as Skobelev had flopped a set of threes to cut the stack of Luske down considerably.

Updated Counts from Level 2

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Aces Cracked, Djadid Arifovski Pays To See

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

With a decent pot in the middle and the board at the river reading {5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} Marc Doring bet 275,000.

Djadid Arifovski was the man with a decision to make and he pondered for a while before breaking out in a laugh that some other joined in with. He had a dilemma on his hands and went through a few options out loud including the word, “Flush,”

Arifovski tossed out the calling chips and Doring showed him his {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} turned flush as he had feared.

Arifovski was reduced to showing his {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} useless rivered top set and shaking his head.

Cieslik Folds to a Shove

Level 2 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Roman Cieslik faced a raise to 9,000 by a player in early position and three-bet to 26,000. The cutoff called and "Bigsmd" in the small blind then moved all in for more than 340,000. The initial raiser folded and Cieslik did so after some consideration, pointing out in table chat the amount of big blinds the shove was for.

The cutoff asked for a rough count and folded, flashing {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} with the words "normally I should call."
