Just a Casual Knockout

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Jan Mach pictured in the High Roller

After a raise by Roman Cieslik, Roman Lendi moved all in for 79,000 and Cheng-Wei Yin reshoved for 432,000 from one seat over. Jan Mach on the button was the third player to go all in and Cieslik folded {J-Spades}{10-Spades} face up, then tried to bet with players at the table that he would have won the hand.

Roman Lendi: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Cheng-Wei Yin: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Jan Mach: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades} flop gave Mach top set and neither opponent had a spade, while Cieslik was in agony at missing a near quadruple up. Both the {A-Diamonds} turn and {4-Diamonds} river were blanks and Mach sent two opponents to the rail.

Langlitz Flops It to Build Stack Further

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Domonik Kabas raised to 11,000 and was called by Viktor Langlitz in the big blind. The German check-raised the {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop from 17,000 to 50,000 and Kabas called before the {7-Spades} on the turn brought a bet of 60,000 by Langlitz and a call by Kabas.

After the {3-Hearts} river, the chip leader made it 135,000 to go and Kabas called, then mucked when he was shown {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} for the flopped nut straight by Langlitz, claiming in table chat he had pocket kings.

Luske No More

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

The last remaining chips of Marcel Luske vanished after a disappointing first three levels and the Dutchman was sent to the rail. Fellow partypoker Sponsored Pro and High Roller champion Anatoly Filatov however just entered while Alain Riss was also eliminated recently.

Among those to build a stack thus far was Jiri Horak, who doubled the chips he started with, while Konstantin Kostyakov dropped to fewer than half a million.

Daniel Kotowski Four-Bet Jams, Ends Up Toast

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Daniel Kotowski opened the action from late position and got a call from the player on the button before Gerald Karlic three-bet from the small blind.

Back to Kotowski who moved all in and with the button folding Karlic gave him a spin.

Kotowski was the player at risk with {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and it was a flip against the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} of Karlic.

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}.

A set on the flop for Karlic and an exit from the tournament for Kotowski.

Halleux In The Tank Again

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

We join the action on the river, in a hand between Julez and Fabrice Halleux, on a {5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{k-Spades} board. With around 75,000 in the middle, Julez decides to check the action over to Halleux, who bets 55,000.

Julez contorts his face into a frown, shuffles about in his seat a little, and reaches for a check-raise to 211,000. Halleux asks how much Julez has behind, and it looks to be around another 600,000. After a long dwell, something which the table seems to think is becoming a habit of Halleux's, the floor is called over and a 60-second clock is put on his decision.

After being given the 30-second reminder, Halleux announces, "fold," before showing {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a flush, to quell any doubts that his long decision-making was anything less than legitimate. Julez applauds the fold, but doesn't show his cards as he drags in the pot.

Schrimm Busts One

Level 3 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Tilo Schrimm qualified for Day 1b through one of the Phase live satellites here in the King's Casino and just sent an opponent to the rail. It all got in after the {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} turn and Schrimm had his opponent drawing dead, turning over {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for the nut flush. The player in the cutoff had {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and a meaningless {10-Hearts} river completed the board.

Flying Start For Filatov

Level 4 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Filatov is off to a great start in the Main Event
Filatov is off to a great start in the Main Event

Anatoly Filatov opened with a raise to 15,000 from the cutoff, picking up the player on the button, Paul Michaelis in the small blind, and the player in the big blind. They took a {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop four ways, with action checking round to Filatov who put out a continuation bet worth 50,000. It was only Michaelis who flopped nothing, with the remaining three players seeing an {a-Clubs} turn.

Filatov went for a second barrel, this time asking for 125,000. The player on the button was convinced and mucked his hand, while the big blind stuck around to see another card. The {q-Diamonds} came on the river, with Filatov loading the clip and firing out 325,000 when checked to. The big blind made the call, showing {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a flush, but was no good versus Filatov's {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the absolute nuts.

It looks as if Filatov is starting where he left off: after winning the High Roller side event outright in the early hours of this morning, he's off to a great start in the Main Event.
