Aleksandar Tomovic Doubles Up

Level 24 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Aleksandar Tomovic
Aleksandar Tomovic

Gerald Karlic opened for 1,200,000 and Josef Šnejberg raised to 3,300,000.

Aleksandar Tomovic moved all in and with Karlic quickly folding Šnejberg snap called to put Tomovic at risk.

Tomovic was in good shape though for a double with his {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} versus the {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} of Šnejberg.

The board ran out {8-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Tomovic found the double he had been patiently waiting for.

Victor Tyurin Eliminated in 15th Place (€8,000)

Level 24 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Victor Tyurin raised to 1.5 million and fellow Russian Albert Skobelev called from the big blind. On a flop of {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Skobelev check-called a bet of 1.5 million and checked again the {10-Spades} turn. Tyurin bet four million and Skobelev check-raised to eight million before Tyurin moved all in for what appeared to be 15 million.

Skobelev called to set up the following showdown:

Victor Tyurin: {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Albert Skobelev: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The {J-Hearts} on the river restored the preflop order and improved Skobelev to a straight, eliminating Tyurin in 15th place for €8,000. "Tournaments are stupid," Tyurin said on his way out.

Desset Doubles Through Kehya

Level 24 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Sonay Kehya raised from under the gun, making it 1.4 million to go, and picked up three callers in Jonathan Wong, Dominik Desset and Arsenii Karmatckii in the big blind.

The flop came {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and the action checked to Desset, who bet 3.1 million. Kehya was the only caller and Desset bet agin the {3-Hearts} turn for 4.6 million, which Kehya called. After the {5-Clubs} river, Desset emptied the clip by moving all in for 7.7 million. Kehya asked for a count, took more than two minutes and called.

Desset showed {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for top pair and Kehya mucked {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for ace-king high.

SUPER HIGH ROLLER: Tony G Doubles Up

Level 24 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Tony G doubles up
Tony G doubles up

Yair Bitoun opened with a raise to 40,000, with Tony G coming in for a 3-bet to 100,000, before Steffen Sontheimer put in the minimum 4-bet to 160,000. Bitoun sensed something amiss and folded his hand, after which Tony G went deep into the tank, passing the dealer one of his timebank cards.

Shortly before his timebank ran out, Tony G agreed to put the rest in, for a total of 270,000. Sontheimer quickly made the call with {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} and was a little surprised to see Tony G's {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

There was a backdoor sweat for Sontheimer on the {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, but he ultimately bricked on the {5-Diamonds} turn, {7-Spades} river runout.

14 Players Remain in Contention for German Poker Championhip Main Event Title in Rozvadov

Level 24 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Milan Hoang Leads the last 14 into Final Day
Milan Hoang Leads the last 14 into Final Day

Day 3 of the 2017 partypoker LIVE German Poker Championship €2,200 Main Event saw a total of 100 hopefuls return to the tables of the King's Casino in Rozvadov, and eight levels later the field was whittled down to the final 14. All remaining players have €8,000 locked up for their efforts already, but all eyes are set on the trophy and top prize of €200,000 that comes along with it.

Leading the survivors is Ngoc Minh "Milan" Hoang, who mainly focuses on online poker. Hoang's biggest score on the live circuit was a 2nd place finish to Marek Blasko in the €550 Israeli Poker Championship in May 2017 for €13,466. Hoang joined the big stacks throughout the last levels of the night and bagged up a healthy stack of 64,800,000. Russia's Albert Skobelev follows in 2nd place with 57,400,000 while Germany's Marc Döring is in third with 47,300,000.

The name Desset is well known at partypoker LIVE events, as Andrej won back-to-back Grand Prix Main Events in April 2017 for a combined payday of more than €190,000. His younger brother Dominik Desset remains in contention for the €200,000 first-place payout after bagging up 33,500,000 for the final day. Other notables among the final 14 include UK's Jonathan Wong (31,600,000), Philipp Zukernik (27,000,000), Robin Hegele (22,700,000), Sonay Kehya (16,100,000), Gerald Karlic (15,400,000) and Aleksandar Tomovic (10,700,000).

Dutchman Kehya finished 7th in the partypoker Million Germany Main Event here in June this year for €22,500 and aims to bring the title to the Netherlands after Sandro Pitzanti missed out the last time around when finishing runner-up to Michal Mrakes. Pitzanti himself was also in contention on Day 3 and finished in 39th place for €4,500.

Among those to cash on Day 3 were Vojtech Ruzicka (98th for €2,000), Andreas Eiler and Hossein Ensan (86th respectively 85th for €2,000 each), partypoker sponsored pro Natalia Breviglieri (61st for €3,500), Matthias De Meulder (57th for €3,500), [Removed:464] (46th for €4,000), Maxi Lehmanski (42nd for €4,500), partypoker sponsored pro and €5,300 High Roller champion Anatoly Filatov (29th for €5,000), Martin Staszko (28th for €5,000), Philipp Gruissem (25th for €6,000), and aforementioned Marek Blasko (19th for €6,000).

Day 3 Action

Within the first level, no fewer than 20 players were sent to the rail as many short stacks were left over after the money bubble had burst in the last hand of the previous day. Among them was Hossein Ensan, who got it in good with ace-nine suited only to see Simon Trumper with jack-nine spike a jack.

Matthias De Meulder's five-bet jam with ace-king for 40 big blinds came at the worst possible time, as Matous Skorepa immediately called with pocket aces. By then, partypoker sponsored pro Natalia Breviglieri was already on the rail. Her pocket tens were no match against the pocket queens of Sonay Kehya and Breviglieri jumped into a Side Event right after.

Three of the players that qualified for this event through the partypoker Click & Collect promotion reached the money: Alexander Burkart ran with pocket kings into pocket aces and finished in 68th place for €3,000 and Enrique received the same payout after bowing out from the very same table immediately after in 66th place. Andreas Aulike made it even further and picked up €4,500 for his efforts, finishing in 43rd place.

Soon after the action at the tables accelerated and two double eliminations at almost the same time on different tables dimished the field significantly. Sina Alamzad with pocket jacks sent Sandro Pitzanti with ace-queen and Tonio Röder with pocket fives to the rail. SantaClaus emerged as the winner of a four-way all in with pocket queens from the big blind and that left partypoker sponsored pro Anatoly Filatov below the average, Filatov busted soon after with jack-ten versus ace-king.

The biggest pot of the tournament so far was played between Matous Skorepa and Marc Döring. The latter five-bet all in with ace-king off and Skorepa called with ace-king suited to see Döring improve to a flush thanks to four clubs on the board. Philipp Gruissem lost a flip with ace-ten against the pocket kings of Albert Skobelev to finish 25th and Skorepa never recovered from the huge blow to his stack, bowing out in 18th place for €7,000.

The last two tables were set in the penultimate level of the day and two further players were sent to the rail. Belgium's Fabrice Halleux lost a race with pocket tens against the ace-king of Marc Döring and Victor Tyurin's turned two pair with king-ten were no good as Albert Skobelev's king-queen got there with a straight on the river.

All remaining 14 players will return to the tables of Europe's biggest poker arena at 12 p.m. noon local time on Monday August 14th 2017 and play down to a champion. The final table will be streamed on the Twitch channel of the King's Casino and the PokerNews live reporting team will provide updates until the last river card is dealt.

SUPER HIGH ROLLER: Pavel Binar Eliminated in 6th Place

Level 24 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Pavel Binar eliminated in 6th place
Pavel Binar eliminated in 6th place

Pavel Binar has been short for much of this final table, but he eventually found a good spot to move in, 3-bet shoving over ElkY's 40,000 cutoff open for a total of 171,000. ElkY thought for exactly 30 seconds, before calling with {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Binar was pleased, if not a little surprised, to see that his {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} was in front, but all of a sudden he had a plethora of cards to avoid when ElkY flopped a double gutshot draw to go with his pair outs on the {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop. The {a-Diamonds} on the turn killed some of ElkY's outs, as it gave Binar a flush draw, but ElkY managed to find the nice, clean {8-Hearts} on the river to take down the pot and knock Binar out in 6th.

SUPER HIGH ROLLER: Yair Bitoun Eliminated In 5th Place

Level 24 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Yair Bitoun eliminated in 5th place
Yair Bitoun eliminated in 5th place

Yair Bitoun opened with a limp on the button, with Tony G raising it up to 115,000 from the small blind. Bitoun agreed to put the extra 75,000 in, and the pair went heads up to a {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop. Tony G slowed down, checking the action over to Bitoun, who threw in a handful of green 25,000-value chips, totalling 175,000. Tony G quickly called, before the {2-Diamonds} came down on the turn.

Tony G checked it over to Bitoun once more, with Bitoun quickly sliding his last 324,000 over the line. Tony G called instantly, and the two players showed down, as the rest of the table stood up to see what these two had.

Bitoun was at risk with {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, although had a ton of outs. Any king, queen, eight or heart would do it, but Tony G's {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} held as the board paired on the {2-Spades} river.

We are now on the money bubble, with just four players left!

SUPER HIGH ROLLER: ElkY Eliminated In 4th Place

Level 24 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
ElkY eliminated in 4th place
ElkY eliminated in 4th place

ElkY picked a bad time to shove blind on blind, running into Tony G who found {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} in the big blind. ElkY's {a-Spades}{6-Hearts} was drawing to three outs, and picked up no help on the {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. The {2-Diamonds} turn gave ElkY a gutshot straight draw, but he ultimately bricked on the {7-Diamonds} river, as he shipped his last 309,000 Tony G's way.

That means we are down to our last three players, with everyone guaranteed to take home at least €115,000.
