Level 18 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

After a push by the small blind, Enrique called with {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and the small blind only showed {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. However, the board came {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades} and was left with 900,000.

He doubled those with {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} against the {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} of Vladimir Minarik right after on a board of {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, clapping after the river card and claiming "I am here to stay."

Level 18 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Philipp Gruissem
Philipp Gruissem

Sandro Pitzanti opened the action from the cut-off for 350,000 and Philipp Gruissem called from the small blind. Action was Andreas Aulike and he gave Pitzanti a grin and started to say something but was reminded that he wasn’t allowed to talk in that spot. Aulike was had survived an all in earlier but was still short and he decided to fold and look for a better spot.

It was heads-up to a flop of {3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Gruissem check-called a 450,000 bet from Pitzanti.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and Gruissem checked again. Pitzanti moved all in and Gruissem gave a lopsided smile, folded and tapped the table to acknowledge the move.

“You have a heart?” Pitzanti wanted to know?

Gruissem shook his head, “I thought I did.”

De Meulder Doubles and Busts Wahlers

Level 18 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Matthias De Meulder
Matthias De Meulder

A short-stacked Fabian Wahlers was all in for 1,500,000 and Marko Simic called in the cutoff. Out of the small blind, Matthias De Meulder reshoved and the action was back on Simic, who immediately sighed. "How much?" he asked and De Meulder's stack was counted to be for 3,875,000 in total. Simic eventually called to put two players at risk.

Fabian Wahlers: {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Matthias De Meulder: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Marko Simic: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The flop of {J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} improved Wahlers, while Simic said "it's okay," the bigger side pot was still in his favor. De Meulder asked for an ace once the {7-Spades} appeared on the turn and Wahlers requested a queen. One wish was granted, as the {A-Diamonds} river improved De Meulder to the best hand and eliminate Wahlers. "Every tournament," Simic sighed even more, having forfeited almost half of his stack.

Down to 72 Players

Level 18 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Camilla Reventlow
Camilla Reventlow

There are just 72 players remaining as Martin Joseph Kus, Koen de Weerd, Simon Trumper and Camilla Reventlow have been eliminated.

Reventlow was all in with ace-queen and Josef Snejberg looked her up with {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}. The board came {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Reventlow was drawing dead on the turn already.

Philipp Zukernik was more fortunate in a flip against Ivo Donev. All in for just 1,300,000, Zukernik flipped with {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} versus {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and was down to two outs after the {K-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} flop. The {4-Diamonds} turn was a blank, but the {5-Diamonds} river came to the rescue. Donev let out a loud "nooo" and paid off the Canadian.

Philipp Gruissem Busts Simon Trumper

Level 18 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Philipp Gruissem
Philipp Gruissem

Philipp Gruissem opened the action from under the gun and one by one the other players checked their cards in the hope of having something to play back at the aggressive big stacked moustachioed German poker machine.

One by one they folded until it got to Simon Trumper in the big blind who called.

The flop was {k-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

Trumper checked and Gruissem continued for 300,000. “You got any of that?” Trumper asked as he called.

The turn was the {k-Hearts} and both players checked.

On the river {j-Spades} it was Trumper who took the betting lead, Gruissem raised and then called when Trumper moved all in.

Gruissem did indeed have some of that, in the end he had all of it. He turned over his {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} with an apologetic air and shook Trumper’s hand before adding the chips to his stack.

Trumper was required to show his losing {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Trumper reflected of how the hand went down, “If the jack didn’t come he doesn’t get paid.”

Pots for The Talk and Karlic

Level 18 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Only The Talk check-called a bet of 625,000 on the {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} turn and the {7-Spades} river completed the board. The Talk checked and Tyurin pushed all in with the superior stack.

The Talk eventually called for 3,350,000 with {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for two pair and Tyurin was caught with the fingers in the cookie har, holding only {7-}{3-}.

One table over, Ngoc Minh Hoang check-called a bet of 975,000 by Gerald Karlic on the {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{Q-Spades} turn before the {10-Spades} river was checked. Karlic's {K-Spades}{5-Spades} won the pot, but he pointed to Martin Wrulich in the one seat "He got all my chips."

Alexander Burkart
Alexander Burkart

Alexander Burkart opened for 325,000 from under the gun and picked up a call from Philipp Zukernik and the player in the big blind.

The flop was {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} and checked to the raiser, Burkart continued for 375,000 and got two callers.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and the rest of Burkart’s chips went in the middle. Zukernik called and the big blind folded.

Zukernik quickly turned over his {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and it was left to Burkart to nod his acknowledgement of the cooler as he showed his {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

The {5-Clubs} river card rounded off the board and Burkart’s tournament.

Burkart had won his seat at the partypoker German Poker Championships thanks to a free “Click & Collect” ticket on his online account and he was walking away €3,000 richer and with a bag full of memories.

“Trapping, trapping, trapping,” the player in the big blind said of Zukernik’s play.
