Quads for Griffin Benger

Level 20 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Robin Hegele was in middle position and raised to 360,000. Action was on Griffin Benger in the cutoff and he moved all in for his last 2,815,000. Hegele quickly called.

It was a flip, with Benger tabling two red eights and Hegele revealing {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Benger pulled much further ahead, making a set of eights. The turn was the {4-Spades}, and the river was the {8-Spades}, just for good measure. Benger doubled with quad eights, surviving another hand as the bubble looms.

Table 60 is stacked with chips and notables. Here is a look at their counts:

Level 20 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Terrence Chan raised to 365,000 from the hijack and Anthony Zinno called from the cutoff. Shane Brotherwood was in the small blind and three-bet to 830,000. Chan went into the tank and after about a minute, four-bet to 2,100,000. Zinno got out of the way, and Brotherwood five-bet shoved for about 5,500,000. Chan snap-called.

Chan: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Brotherwood: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Brotherwood was eliminated.

Khun Takes From Zajmovic

Level 20 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Ema Zajmovic raised to 350,000 from late position, and Chanracy Khun three-bet to 1,000,000. Zajmovic thought for a moment and decided to call.

The flop came {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and both players checked to the turn, which was the {3-Clubs}. Both players checked again, and the dealer put out the {j-Diamonds} on the river. Zajmovic checked, and Khun reached into his stack to make a bet of 1,525,000. Zajmovic thought for a moment and called.

Khun tabled {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for two pair, queens and jacks. Zajmovic mucked.

Terry Lee Rejoices!

Level 19 : 60,000/120,000, 10,000 ante

With about 1,500,000 in the pot already, the board read {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Terry Lee made a bet of 625,000 which was called by James Romero. The action was on Sylvain Siebert on the button, who raised to 1,500,000. Lee moved all in for 2,520,000 and Romero got out of the way. Siebert instantly called and the cards were tabled.

Terry Lee: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}
Sylvain Siebert: {7-Spades}{5-Spades}

Siebert flopped a straight and Lee was in dire straits. The turn gave Lee some hope when the {A-Diamonds} hit the felt. When the {8-Clubs} fell on the river pairing the board, Lee let out a big "YES!!", loud enough for everyone in the room to hear and gather around the table.

Joshi Doesn't Feel Like Showing

Level 19 : 60,000/120,000, 10,000 ante

John Xenos limped in from under the gun, and Dhaval Joshi raised to 275,000. Chanracy Khun was in the small blind and three-bet to 875,000. Xenos folded, and Joshi called.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and both players checked to the turn, which was the {k-Spades}. Khun checked, and Joshi bet 1,375,000. Khun paused for a moment and eventually called.

The river was the {6-Clubs}. Khun checked for a third time, and Joshi fired out a bet of 2,500,000. Khun went deep into the tank, and finally called after a couple of minutes. Joshi was reluctant to table his hand and said, "You're good. Ace high." Khun waited for Joshi to table his hand, but he was waiting for Khun to table his. Eventually he said, "If you don't show, I don't have to show" and Joshi finally tabled {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Khun revealed {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} and raked in the pot.

Christian Harder Gets Coolered

Level 19 : 60,000/120,000, 10,000 ante

There has been no shortage of action early on as Christian Harder was all in on a board that read {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. His opponent, Mingzhe Zhang took his time to think about the decision as his tournament life was on the line. Not long after, Zhang made the call and Harder tabled {A-}{2-}. Zhang, however, held {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a bigger a full house and took most of Christian Harder's chips. Zhang now holds one of the largest stacks in the room early on in Day 3.

Tony Dunst is the First One Out

Level 19 : 60,000/120,000, 10,000 ante
Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst

partypoker's own Tony Dunst was the first to be eliminated today, starting the day with just 1,195,000 chips. He was seen leaving the tournament area, and the table explained how he got it in good but couldn't hold.

Dunst raised it up with two queens, and Jordan Saccucci decided to defend his big blind with {8-Spades}{4-Spades}. The flop brought three spades, and the two players got it all in.

The turn paired the board, giving Dunst some more outs along with his lone queen of spades, but the river was a brick, sending Dunst home early.
