Hoivold Out After Massive Cooler

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 25,000 ante
Andreas Hoivold
Andreas Hoivold

When great players are dealt great hands, fireworks usually happen. Thus, it should come as no surprise that Andreas Hoivold and Stephen Chidwick just played a massive pot with two premiums.

All the money went in preflop with Hoivold holding Ace-King suited and Chidwick holding {K-}{K-}, and with no saving (gr)aces for Hoivold on the board, "stevie444" could scoop up the 20 million chip pot.

Kostesky Doubles; Nevanlinna Doesn't

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 25,000 ante

Hand 1

Robert Kostesky moved all in for his last 3,075,000 from the cutoff and the action folded to Luciana Manolea in the big blind. She peeked at her cards, gave it some consideration, and called eventually.

Robert Kostesky: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Luciana Manolea: {A-Spades}{4-Spades}

The {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop was a sweat with straight and flush draw, and the {A-Clubs} turn completed the flush for the Canadian. This made the {10-Spades} river a formality, and Manolea forfeited some chips from the previous hands.

Hand 2

Then, there was a raise and a call on the very same table, and Jussi Nevanlinna shoved the button for around 9,000,000. Ben Morisson reshoved out of the small blind to get the initial raiser and cold-caller out of the way and tabled {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Nevanlinna only had {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and the board ran out queen-high.

Williams Bluffs the River

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 25,000 ante

One table here in the Main Event on Day 3 is a stacked one and features Mike Sexton (currently up to 8,450,000). On it, pre-flop aggressor Louis Nyberg made it 500,000 from the hijack position and got a call from both Tommaso Briotti on the button and Ashley Williams in the big blind.

The flop of {Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} saw all three players check, and they did the same on the {Q-Diamonds} turn. On the river of {6-Spades}, however, Williams led out for 700,000 from the big blind. Both players folded, so he shot a cheeky smile across at them and showed {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

"You were winning. You got that one for free." Both Briotti and Nyberg tried hard not to react, and both retain more chips than Williams, but he won't at all, as that useful pot helps him get nearer the 12 million chip average.

Elsehwhere, Coong Sang Ngo has busted after spinning 1.9m up to 7m before being flipped out of the tournament.

Honeyman's Aces Cracked

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 25,000 ante

Xia Ke raised to 550,000 under the gun, Dylan Honeyman moved all-in for around 5 million a few seats over, and Ben Farrell moved in over the top for 7,960,000 right behind him.

Ke made the fold and Honeyman instantly revealed a pair of black aces. Farrell turned over his {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, and the ladies took the lead as the dealer fanned a {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop. The {7-Clubs} turn did no good for Honeyman, neither did the {5-Clubs} river, and Honeyman was out in 103rd.

On an adjacent table, Romanian Luciana Manolea looked like she was in physical pain, as she faced a river raise from Ben Morrison of 2,325,000 on a {3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades} board. Ultimately Manolea mustered a call, but her cards hit the muck as she was shown {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} by Morrison.

Wigg Wins Flip to Double

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 25,000 ante
Anton Wigg
Anton Wigg

On the button, Anton Wigg moved all in for his last 3,4235,000 and Daniel Wilson called from the big blind to put Wigg at risk of elimination.

Anton Wigg: {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Daniel Wilson: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

The board of {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Spades} ensured the double for Wigg, and 2016 Irish Open champion Wilson was reduced to less than 20 big blinds. Chip leader at the table is Patrick Mulhern with more than twice the average.

Yan Gets Brandt to Fold; Beresford Busts

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 25,000 ante

Shawn Morales moved all in for 3,000,000 and Conor Beresford called all in for 2,000,000 from one seat over, before Patrice Brandt called. [Removed:17] then reraised to 7,400,000 and Klandt called, creating a massive pot. On the {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, Yan's continuation bet for 4,900,000 was called before Brandt then folded on the {4-Diamonds} turn when Yan fired massive 12,000,000. "You got it," Brandt said when sending his cards into the muck.

Shawn Morales: {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Conor Beresford: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
[Removed:17]: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

"Come on," an excited Morales said, on the verge of a near quadruple up. A blank {3-Clubs} on the river completed just that, and Beresford was eliminated while Yan scooped the big sidepot.

Rhys-Davies Bests Leah: Then Doubles Briotti

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 25,000 ante
Mike Leah
Mike Leah

Mike Leah is our 116th place finisher at this partypokerLIVE Millions Main Event. After a limp under the gun from Eugenie Hyett, Leah moved in for 2,600,000. Alex Rhys-Davies made the call out of the small blind, and after folds from the big blind and Hyett, hands were on their backs.

Mike Leah: {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Alex Rhys-Davies: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, and Leah headed for the cashier to pick up £12,500 for his troubles.

The very next hand Rhys-Davies were at again, this time in a massive pot against Tommaso Briotti. Briotti check/called 545,000 on the {9-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} flop, and 1,050,000 on the {Q-Diamonds} turn. Rhys-Davies emptied the clip on the {9-Spades} river, and Briotti rather quickly called off his 5,880,000 chips.

Rhys-Davies looked rather defeated as he turned over {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, and they were indeed no good against the {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} of Briotti, who thanks to that hand sits on 16,5 million chips.

Eight Golden Chip Hopefuls Remain

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 25,000 ante
Toby Joyce
Toby Joyce

Among others, Mike Leah and Toby Joyce (pictured) have been eliminated and their chances of earning the £100,000 extra prize in the last longer competition have been reduced to zero. As consolation, they earned a payday of £12,500 and may very well jump into the £2,700 8max Event that has stunning £1m guaranteed.

Montrone Bests Dietrich

Level 41 : 120,000/240,000, 25,000 ante

From under the gun, Moritz Dietrich raised to 550,000 and short stack Andrea Montrone moved all in for 2,910,000 from late position. Dietrich eventually called and wished his opponent good luck while the cards were turned over.

Andrea Montrone: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Moritz Dietrich: {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs} and the Italian doubled.
