Lubas Builds Stack

Level 17 : 70,000/140,000, 140,000 ante

The current average with 160 players remaining sits at 6.3 million and Ihar Soika as well as Michal Lubas are comfortably above that. Both just clashed in a three-bet pot that saw Soika make it 300,000 to go on the button. Lubas three-bet to 1.1 million and Soika waved with his hand to see the stack of the Pole before calling. On the {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Lubas continued for 700,000 and that's all it took to force a fold from Soika.

Raketak Takes Sztreborny Out

Level 17 : 70,000/140,000, 140,000 ante
Csaba Sztreborny
Csaba Sztreborny

The board read {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} and Csaba Sztreborny had shoved all in on the river from the under-the-gun position. "Raketak", in mid-position, called after a while. Sztreborny showed {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for the full house, treys over fives. But Raketak had {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for the higher full house, eights over fives. After counting Raketak's stack (3,185,000) it was concluded that Raketak has Sztreborny covered.

Zhang Doubles Through Karlic

Level 17 : 70,000/140,000, 140,000 ante
Chi Zhang
Chi Zhang

Gerald Karlic had raised to about 4,000,000 from the small blind which effectively put Chi Zhang, in the big blind, all-in. The floor was called over for the clock as the other players deemed that either Karlic or Zhang or both were taking too long to take their decisions. The floor gave Zhang one minute to take a decision. After a while, he decided to call with the 1,950,000 he had in total.

Chi Zhang: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Gerald Karlic: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades} - Zhang hit his king on the flop to secure his continuation in the tournament.

Shortly after the table was being broken up to balance the other tables out and Karlic was given a warning about his slow play in this tournament and in one of the previous tournaments this week and that they would be keeping an eye on him from now on.

The Move of Liperis is Rewarded

Level 17 : 70,000/140,000, 140,000 ante
Yiannis Liperis
Yiannis Liperis

Yiannis Liperis raised to 300,000 in the cutoff and Giuliano Bendinelli called on the button before Evgenii Evdokimov in the small blind three-bet to 1.15 million. Liperis moved all in and Bendinelli asked for a count. Liperis was at risk for 6.515 million and the Italian was in the think tank for quite some time, the clock was called on him and he eventually folded.

Evdokimov also needed some time, but eventually called it off for around 6.2 million to create a massive pot.

Evgenii Evdokimov: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Yiannis Liperis: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop improved Liperis to a pair of queens and the {9-Diamonds} turn and {6-Hearts} river saw the 13.5 million pot shipped over to the Brit.

Robert Auer: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

Lijo Doubles Through Maini

Level 18 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Towards the very end of the previous level Vishal Maini took a big hit to his stack and lost nearly half of it to table neighbor Lander Lijo.

Lijo's cutoff raise was called by Maini and the Spaniard bet one third of the pot on the {J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. Lijo then bet the {10-Spades} turn for 750,000 and Maini called before the Spaniard shoved the {5-Hearts} river. Maini called with {J-}{10-} only for Lijo to turn over {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for trips treys.
