Logunov Busts to Ananev

Level 4 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Leonid Logunov
Leonid Logunov

Sergey Ananev and Chin Wei Lim re-entered after busting on their first bullet for Day 1A and got seated on the same table along with Leonid Logunov, while Oleg Titov has entered for the first time one table over.

Logunov had been down to nine big blinds before scoring a quadruple up, however, the second time he tried to run up his short stack was not crowned by success. The cutoff raised to 35,000 and Ananev called on the button, Logunov then three-bet all in for his last 298,000. While the initial raiser folded after some consideration, Ananev quickly called and Logunov was in dire need of help.

Leonid Logunov: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Sergey Ananev: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Logunov was sent to the rail.

Melnikov Cracks Lim's Kings

Level 4 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Alexey Melnikov raised to 30,000 first to act and picked up one caller. Chin Wei Lim in middle position had other plans and three-bet to 125,000, which only Melnikov called. On the {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop, Melnikov check-called a bet of 110,000 and check-raised all in after the {7-Spades} turn.

Lim called for what appeared to be 725,000 and the following cards were turned over.

Chin Wei Lim: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Alexey Melnikov: {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The {3-Clubs} on the river was a blank and Melnikov celebrated, while Lim quickly headed out of the tournament area.

Shevelev Sees Off Bura

Level 4 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Maksim Bura was left very short on 75,000 just a few hands ago after he called a 400,000 river bet from Aleksandr Shevelev only to see his opponent hold a full house.

Bura was then able to get the rest of his chips into the middle and was in good shape up against his former nemesis Shevelev.

Maksim Bura: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Aleksandr Shevelev: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Board: {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Bura saw a safe flop but the turn ace of hearts put Shevelev in front. The river was no help to Bura, and he made his way out of the tournament room at the Sochi Casino.

Lipovka Chops One Pot

Level 3 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

After a raise by Vadim Lipovka and a cold call by the player in the small blind, Pavel Gavrish three-bet to 133,000 in the big blind. Lipovka called and the small blind got out of the way. On the {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, Gavrish continued for 101,000 and Lipovka called.

The {J-Hearts} turn and {3-Hearts} river ended without any further betting action and Gavrish turned over the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, Lipovka had the equally strong {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and both chopped up the pot.

Shevelev Hits a House

Level 3 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With the completed board down {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Aleksandr Shevelev bet 400,000 with Maksim Bura the player facing the decision. Bura was sat with around 475,000 and thought about his decision for a couple of minutes before he called.

Shevelev tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a full house as Bura sighed and mucked his hand. Bura was left short on around 75,000 as level three neared its conclusion.
