Sly Doubles Through Johnson

Level 9 : 1,500/3,500, 3,500 ante

Chris Sly's only been in the field a few minutes but he's already doubled up. Keith Johnson opened to 10,000 and James Leary three-bet to 25,000 from the cutoff. Sly then four-bet all in for 88,500.

Johnson thought before five-betting all in over the top, forcing Leary out.

Keith Johnson: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Chris Sly: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

"Did you have an Ace?" Sly asked Leary, and Leary said he did.

The flop and turn came {3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} meaning Johnson would need to catch a Queen or a club, but the river was the {9-Spades} and Sly doubled up.

Level 9 : 1,500/3,500, 3,500 ante

On a river of {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds} Dominik Nitsche bet 27,000 into a pot of 29,000 and after some thought his opponent Luke Marsh called.

Nitsche showed {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for two pair, and Marsh took a long hard look at the board before mucking.

Jackson Survives Against Clancy

Level 9 : 1,500/3,500, 3,500 ante

Ben Jackson has doubled up after getting all his chips in against the pocket tens of Anthony Clancy.

Jackson was behind with a {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} holding on the {8-}{5-}{9-} flop. However, he had outs to improve and by the river he had completed a straight with the turn showing the {3-} and the final card producing one of his outs in the form of a {6-}

Marsh Knocks Out Whyte

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Luke Marsh has just eliminated Jamie Whyte from the proceedings after Manig Loeser seemingly made a tough preflop fold.

Loeser opened the action from middle position only for Whyte to move all in on the button.

Marsh re-raised to 200,000 and put Loeser to a decision for the rest of his chips.

Loeser gave his decision some thought before letting his hand go and didn't look overly happy to see Marsh reveal pocket nines and Whyte needing to hit the board with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The cards ran out {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Whyte departed.

Chi Zhang

Michael Chi Zhang raised to 7,000 and Keith Johnson defended his big blind. THe flop came {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Johnson check-called a bet of 6,000. The river was the {j-Diamonds}. Johnson checked again and Zhang bet 4,000. Johnson check-raised to 20,000 and Zhang re-raised to 55,000. Johnson thought before folding.

"You gotta love Michael," said tablemate Steven Warburton.

"No you do not have to love Michael!" said Johnson.

Loeser Out After Johnson Turns Trips

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Manig Loeser
Manig Loeser

Manig Loeser late registered today's Super High Roller but has exited the action already.

We saw Keith Johnson call Loeser's all-in move with the board reading {5-}{8-}{7-}{8-}

Johnson was ahead with {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for trips and left Loeser needing a lot of luck on the river with pocket nines.

The {5-} river only improved Johnson to a full house, leaving Loeser to ponder reentry with 60 minutes of late registration still available.
