Day 1a of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona Warm Up was done around 21:00 on Monday, April 9th. In total there were 304 entries with 92 players bagging and tagging their chips to take to Tuesday, April 10th. Taking the honors of the chip lead for Day 1a was Patrick Clarke with 10,800,000 in chips.

Clarke seems to do well in the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Warm Up tournaments as he finished in fourth place during the MILLIONS Germany event, cashing for €69,000 in total last February. Only narrowly missing out on the chip lead was Mikalai Vaskaboinikau with 10,550,000 in chips. Closing the podium for Day 1a is Smain Mamouni with 9,200,000.

Other notable chip counts include Gianluca Speranza (5,865,000), Sander van Wesemael (5,525,000), Manuel Ruivo (5,375,000), Chris Moorman (5,345,000), Asi Moshe (5,185,000), Gaelle Baumann (5,155,000), Vojtech Ruzicka (5,565,000), and Julian Thomas with 4,450,000 in chips.

Representing the partypoker brand on Day 2 is the partypoker Chairman Mike Sexton. He bagged 1,935,000 which is below the average chip count but still gives him more than enough space to play with on Day 2. Unfortunately, not everyone managed to make it through to the partypoker representatives. Players include Dzmitry Urbanovich, Josip Simunic, Philipp Gruissem, and Marcel Luske.

Other players that also fell at one of the many hurdles today include Niall Farrell, Tobias Ziegler, Jasper Wetemans, Paul Newey, [Removed:17], Jack Salter, Martin Finger, Noah Vaillancourt, Anton Wigg, Peter Jaksland, Konstantinos Misailidis, and many others. Luckily, they still had Day 1b to try their luck.

Day 2 continues on Tuesday, April 10th, at a revised time of 12:30 local time. Players will continue on Level 13 with a small blind of 35,000, big blind of 70,000 and a button ante of 70,000.

Make sure to follow all the updates as PokerNews provides them from the tournament floor!

Mach Shaves Another One Off the Field

Level 12 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

The player in the under-the-gun position raised to 110,000 and action folded to Jan Mach in the small blind. Mach three-bet to 405,000. The initial raiser decided to shove all in for almost 2,000,000 in total. Mach called.

Jan Mach: {A-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{a-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts} to give Mach an ace on the flop to win the hand. After counting all the chips, his opponent had 1,925,000 in total and Mach had more. His opponent was sent to the rail or the cashier to reenter into Day 1b.

Fernandez Not Good for Nuutinen

Level 11 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Javier Alonso Fernandez claimed the short stack of Jorma Nuutinen when he got it in from the small blind with the {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Nuutinen called it off for around 450,000 with {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}. The board came {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{Q-Spades}{2-Hearts} and that was it for the Finn.

Manuel Bardon doubled with {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} against the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} of Marcin Chmielewski when the board came {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Right after the fireworks started again on the same table when Govert Metaal shoved for his last 510,000 with the {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Initial raiser Philippe D’Auteil called with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Metaal was ready to leave when spotting the flop of {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Spades}. However, the {8-Clubs} turn improved the Dutchman to a straight and the blank {2-Hearts} river secured his double.
