Elusive Field Emerges on Day 1B

Philipp Gruissem
Philipp Gruissem

Yiannis Liperis, Sergio Castelluccio, David Peters, Ioannis-Angelou Konstas, Darryll Fish and Ali Reza Fatehi were all part of Day 1B but eventually bowed out before the second break at the end of level six emerged. Some hot shots and big names that were gaining ground include MILLIONS Germany champion Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, who moved up to 2.2 million and aims for back-to-back victories.

Mustapha Kanit played for roughly two levels before he ran out of chips and was joined on the rail by Juha Helppi, Franz-Xaver Ditz, Mikalai Vaskaboinikau.

Team partypoker's Philipp Gruissem was facing a decision for his tournament life on the river of a paired six-high board. He eventually called with ace.king high and his opponent tabled only {A-}{10-} for the inferior kicker. That sent Gruissem's stack up to 2.3 million, just above the average with 80 of 145 players remaining. Compared to Day 1A, the casualties still come at a slower place, though.

Day 1b is Growing

Adrian Mateos fires a third time
Adrian Mateos fires a third time

Unlike the first starting day of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona €10,300 Main Event, there are barely any eliminations within the first three levels and the only notables to run out of chips were Andras Nemeth and Luc Greenwood. There are 114/118 players remaining and they are currently playing at blinds of 6,000/12,000.

Some of the pros that jumped in for another shot at glory here in Barcelona were Rainer Kempe, Anthony Zinno, Bryn Kenney, Erik Seidel and Adrian Mateos for his third bullet of the day. Seidel is on a table with JC Alvarado, Anthony Spinella and Oliver Weis to make for well-known names all bunched together.

Day 1b of the €10,300 Main Event Underway

Paul Newey
Paul Newey

The field size of Day 1b in level one has climbed up to around 80 entries and there aren't that many tables available to fill with new players as the mega satellite with 50 seats is ongoing and Day 1A takes up a lot of space with 210 players out of 338 entries remaining.

All those that were unfortunate enough to bust in the first flight of the day are almost certain to take another shot, among those are Paul Newey, Stefan Huber, Thomas Muehloecker and Brian Piccioli. The latter shares a starting table with fellow American grinder Anthony Spinella and Uruguay's Fabrizio Gonzalez, who denied partypoker ambassador Joao Simao the trophy in the partypoker Latin American Poker Championship $5,300 High Roller at Punta del Este.
