Nemeth Loses a Bit

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

The board read {4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} with 1,672,000 in the middle of the table.

Andras Nemeth bet 418,000 from the big blind and was called by Matthew Bushell in the middle position.

The {q-Diamonds} completed the board and Nemeth bet 627,000 which Bushell quickly called. Nemeth tabled the {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for two pair but Bushell had the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for the set and the pot.

Peralta pays off Dimitrov

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

On a completed board of {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}, Eugenio Peralta made it 600,000 to go out of the small blind. The pot by then was 1,520,000 and Aleks Dimitrov raised to 2,440,000.

Peralta gave it some thought and called to get shown {q-}{9-} for the nuts by Dimitrov.

Staples Scores a Knockout

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Brazil's Franklin Magalhaes was at risk preflop with the {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Jaime Staples had that crushed with the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. The outcome of the hand can be found in the video below:

Further Eliminations

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

The business end of Day 1a approaches with around 120 players remaining as 89 of them will make the cut for Day 2.

Greenwood Eliminated by Koon

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

In a three-bet pot to the {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, Luc Greenwood checked and Jason Koon on the button bet 360,000 into a pot of 1,080,000. Greenwood made the call and check-called for another 520,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn.

With 885,482 behind, Greenwood checked the {8-Spades} river and Koon moved all-in with the slightly superior stack. Greenwood used a portion of the remaining time bank and called it off with the {q-Spades}{10-Clubs} only to get shown kings by Koon.

Juhasz Runs into Wall

Level 16 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Jonathan Wall raised to 180,000 from the hijack and Dzmitry Urbanovich three-bet to 560,000 from the cutoff. Benjamin Juhasz four-bet shoved for 2,326,871 from the button. The blinds folded and Wall responded with a five-bet shove with the bigger stack for Urbanovich to fold.

Benjamin Juhasz: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Jonathon Wall: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The flop came {8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{a-Spades} for both players to hit a set but for Wall to stay ahead with the aces.

The turn was the {j-Hearts} which didn't change the possible outcome and neither did the {j-Spades} on the river.

Mikolaitis Busts Campana

Level 17 : 50,000/100,000, 12,500 ante
Campana vs Mikolaitis
Campana vs Mikolaitis

Brazil's Eder Campana took a flip with the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} from under the gun and faced off against table neighbor Dominykas Mikolaitis. The Lithuanian had two overcards in {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and got there right away on the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop.

Neither the {2-Spades} turn nor the {7-Clubs} river changed anything and Campana was done for the night.

Ponakovs Escapes For Now

Level 17 : 50,000/100,000, 12,500 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs was in dire shape when his {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} clashed with the {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} of Jonathan Proudfoot. However, that all changed thanks to a board of {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{k-Hearts} as the mighty deuce secured the double.

Hollanda Halted by Hegedus

Level 17 : 50,000/100,000, 12,500 ante

Luciano Hollanda was all-in from the button and called by Gergo Hegedus in the big blind with the bigger stack.

Luciano Hollanda: {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Gergo Hegedus: {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} for Hegedus to flop top pair and improve to trips on the river to eliminate Hollanda.
