Hoefer vs Simao
Hoefer vs Simao

In a battle cutoff versus button, the remaining 1.5 million of Paul Hoefer went into the middle and he faced partypoker ambassador Joao Simao in the following showdown.

Paul Hoefer: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Joao Simao: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Only one club and no broadway cards appeared on the {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board, which sent Hoefer to the rail shortly after the action resumed.

Dvoress Rivers the Nuts to Take the Lead

Level 15 : 35,000/70,000, 8,750 ante

Daniel Dvoress opened the action with a raise to 154,000 and Ramon Kropmanns on the button clicked it up to 595,000, which Dvoress called. Both players checked the {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop and Dvoress then checked the {9-Clubs} on the turn. Kropmanns bet 980,000 only for Dvoress to check-raise, making it 2,065,000 to go and picking up a call.

The {5-Clubs} fell on the river and Dvoress moved all-in for an effective 3,348,837, as that's what Kropmanns had behind. He received the call by the Brazilian with {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} for a pair of queens to reveal {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for the nut flush as the winning hand.

Recent Eliminations Part VI

Level 15 : 35,000/70,000, 8,750 ante

The field has been reduced to fewer than 150 hopefuls and some former big stacks are no longer in contention.

O'Dwyer Jams Up Stack Without Showdown

Level 15 : 35,000/70,000, 8,750 ante

There was plenty of button clicking on the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop as Steve O'Dwyer and Jiri Kocab tangled with the latter making it nearly 1 million to go. O'Dwyer came along on the button and that led to the {10-Clubs} turn.

Kocab now bet 1,446,439 into 2,295,936 and O'Dwyer then jammed for 2,679,355 to force an expensive fold from Kocab.

Knoppers Kicked Out by Kampf

Level 15 : 35,000/70,000, 8,750 ante

Luigi Knoppers was all-in from the button for 720,039 and Philipp Kampf three-bet shoved for 2,636,050 from the small blind for Arnaud Enselme to fold his big blind.

Luigi Knoppers: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Philipp Kampf: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for Kampf to hold with the pair of sevens and even improve to a set on the river to eliminate Knoppers.

Held Busts to Staples; Badziakouski Vanishes

Level 15 : 35,000/70,000, 8,750 ante
Held eliminated by Staples
Held eliminated by Staples

Steve O'Dwyer raised to 132,000 and Jaime Staples three-bet to 540,000 out of the small blind.

Justus Held gasped a long "oooooooooooffff" in the big blind and then jammed for 641,780, O'Dwyer folded and Staples called the few chips extra.

Justus Held: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Jaime Staples: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Held flopped the top two pair on {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and remained ahead on the {2-Clubs} turn. However, the {q-Hearts} fell on the river and Staples improved to the ace-high straight.

In the meanwhile, Mikita Badziakouski has disappeared. He got it in with jacks against the kings of Pedro Padilha and low cards only appeared to end Day 1a for Badziakouski much earlier than he was hoping for.

Nemeth Puts Smiljkovic All-In

Level 14 : 30,000/60,000, 7,500 ante

Daniel Smiljkovic raised to 120,000 from the middle position and Niels de Moree called from the button. Andras Nemeth three-bet to 540,000 from the big blind for Smiljkovic to four-bet to 1,188,000. De Moree got out of their way while Nemeth made the call.

The flop came {4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Nemeth check-called the 644,625 continuation-bet of Smiljkovic.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and Nemeth checked again. This time, Smiljkovic led out for 966,937 for Nemeth to respond with a shove and the bigger stack. Smiljkovic snap-folded.
