"Ilija" Cracks Aces for a Dub

"Ilija"
"Ilija"

In Level 8 with blinds of 800/1,600 and an ante of 200, preflop action saw all the chips go into the middle between "Ilija" in the small blind and "stephub0331," who was in the big blind.

"Ilija": {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
"stephhub0331": {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

"Ilija" woke up with the second-best starting hand and ran it into the only one that could best it. Fortunately for them, the flop came {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} to give them a set of kings and put them ahead, where they would stay as the turn {q-Hearts} and river {q-Clubs} completed the runout to result in them winning the pot with a full house and earning the double.

"stephhub0331" was left with less than two big blinds and was eliminated on the next hand.

Engel In and With Two Stacks; "IReadYrSoul" With Four

Ari Engel

In Level 7 with blinds of 600/1,200 and an ante of 150, there was a heads-up pot between Ari Engel, who was under the gun and "KingsWin," who was on Engel's direct left.

Action was on the turn with 23,850 in the middle and a board of {4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and Engel had checked over to "KingsWin," who shoved for 38,500. Engel mulled over his decision and decided to click the call button.

"KingsWin": {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Ari Engel: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Engel found his call to be the correct one and he needed only to fade the remaining aces and jacks in the deck for what would be a knockout and almost a full double. The river {4-Clubs} was safe and his two pair, queens and eights wound up best to secure the pot and the knockout.

"KingsWin" re-entered moments later and received their second stack of 50,000 for the tournament. Meanwhile, "IReadYrSoul" has chipped up to over 200,000 and has nearly double the stack of the next-closest player.

A Round of Chip Counts

Forty-eight entries have now been logged as play has reached Level 6 with the tournament now running for one hour. Blinds are now 500/1,000 with an ante of 125.

Nine eliminations have occurred thus far, though only four players have opted to not re-enter. Registration will remain open for more than two more hours.

"IReadYrSoul" Gets a Double

"IReadYrSoul"
"IReadYrSoul"

In Level 5 with blinds of 400/800 and an ante of 100, there was a blind-on-blind battle with 19,200 in the middle on a board reading {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

"IReadYrSoul" checked in the small blind and "Lanfeust" bet 20,000 in the big blind. "IReadYrSoul" check-raised all in for 47,100 and "Lanfeust" called.

"IReadYrSoul": {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}
"Lanfeust": {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

"IReadYrSoul" had flopped trips and only needed to fade the two remaining aces in the deck. The river {k-Hearts} further improved them to a full house, leaving "Lanfeust's" aces up second best to result in the pot being shipped to "IReadYrSoul" as they earned a double.
