Day 1 Completed

Ross “thehebrewhammer” Gottleib Wins WPT Online Borgata Series Event #3: $30K GTD 8-Max Freezeout for $9,823

The WPT Online Borgata Series Event #3: $30K GTD 8-Max Freezeout came to an end early Wednesday morning with Ross “thehebrewhammer” Gottleib running his way to the finish line for the first-place prize of $9,823.

The third event saw 26 players start the tournament with that number steadily increasing throughout the registration period as Gottleib outlasted a field of 111 entries at $320 apiece.

The 111 total entries generated a total prize pool of $33,300 that would be paid out to the top 14 players.

There were 36 players remaining once registration ended and that number quickly dwindled as Michael "Gags30" Gagliano bubbled the tournament at the start of Level 25, leaving the remaining players in the money.

From there, players started dropping by the wayside as "Stoops211" (14th place - $516), "jaehoez24" (13th Place - $516), Eric “alwaysliquid” Vanauken (12th Place - $599), "MortySmith" (11th Place - $599), "Bond18" (10th Place - $766) and "Got_Steam" (9th Place - $766), all got a piece of the pie but fell short of the making final table.

Final Table Action

In Level 26, "ghoul" was the first to fall in eighth place after they jammed their queen-jack off suit into "BigDickRick's" pocket aces and "La_Flama_Blanca" fell shortly after in seventh place.

A full three levels passed before the next elimination happened as Ryan “simlSgg” Hagerty lost a race holding a pair of snowmen to "TheSportsPost" holding big slick.

"Ozzy_Rocks111" was the next to drop after flopping top-pair while Gottleib flopped the nuts. "Ozzy_Rocks111" stayed alive after turning two-pair but they came up short on the river ending their tournament in fifth place.

Angel "chromeking" Lopez was the next elimination after he failed to win a race holding a pair of eight's against Gottleib's king-queen of clubs.

Once three-handed action started, Gottleib held a commanding chip lead over his two opponents and while the chips shuffled around a bit for two full levels, "TheSportsPost" fell in third place after their ace-jack got tripped-up by Gottleib's suited connectors.

The heads-up battle saw Gottleib hold a 3:1 chip advantage but his aggression turned against him as he doubled-up "BigDickRick" within the first few hands.

Luckily for Gottleib, he started gaining back traction until he won a flip to send "BigDickRick" home in second place.

Unfortunately, the {6-Spades} appeared on the river ending "BigDickRick's" tournament in second place.

It was a classic race with Lopez in the lead until the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop appeared pairing Gottleib's queen.

The {a-Diamonds} turn was no help to Lopez, nor was the {a-Spades} that followed on the river, ending his tournament in fourth place.
