Early In-the-Money Eliminations ($336)

The first few minutes of in-the-money play has seen four players' nights come to an end earning first-level payouts. All four of these players earned $336, as will the next four to join them.

"Chasethiz26" Stays Alive

In Level 22 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, "Chasethiz" saw action fold around to the small blind and jammed for 57,000. "jbodey5288" called in the big blind for over 40% of their stack.

"Chasethiz26": {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
"jbodey5288": {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

"jbodey5288" found top pair on the flop {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, but they didn't stay ahead for long as the turn {a-Diamonds} put "Chasethiz26" back ahead with a new top pair of aces. They further improved on the river {7-Hearts} and earned the double with their aces up. Meanwhile, "jbodey5288" now finds themselves short with a stack of 74,000.

"Stoops211" Bubbles Event #4

"Stoops211"
"Stoops211"

In Level 22 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, "angels" opened under the gun and "Stoops211" three-bet jammed for 118,000 in the cutoff. "angels" called and the two were off to the races.

"Stoops211": {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
"angels": {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

"Stoops211" found themselves on the wrong end of the coin flip as the runout came {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, leaving their ace-queen no good to the pocket tens of their opponent to result in their 33rd-place finish from the tournament. With their elimination, the bubble has officially burst and all 32 remaining players are guaranteed at least $336.

Just four tables now remain.

Direct Bubble Chip Update

"LexBabe" was just eliminated from the tournament as Level 22 has begun with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500. Thirty-three players now remain, and just one more elimination is needed for the bubble to burst and play to reach the money.

Hand-for-Hand Play Begins, 34 Remain

A handful of recent eliminations have occurred as play has reached Level 21 with blinds of 5,000/10,000 and an ante of 1,250. Thirty-four players now remain, and just two more eliminations are needed for the tournament to reach the money, meaning hand-for-hand play has begun across the five remaining tables.

Among the 34 remaining is "BwanaNJ," who has ballooned up the leader board and is now the chip leader with a stack of 732,000

"BigBang" Gets an Improbable Triple, "KingKong24" Leads the Field

In Level 20 with blinds of 4,000/8,000 and an ante of 1,000, "BigBang" shoved their last 54,000 preflop from the hijack and saw "chen718" go all in for 212,000 on the button over the top. "LexBabe" called all in for 136,000 in the small blind and all three players hands were displayed.

"BigBang": {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
"LexBabe": {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
"chen718": {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

"LexBabe" was eying a pot of over 400,000 and remained ahead as the flop came {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. However, the turn {9-Clubs} gave "BigBang" trips and left them needing to fade four combined outs to triple. The river {6-Hearts} earned them the triple, giving "LexBabe" the side pot and leaving "chen718" with a stack of 76,000 when all was said and done.

Meanwhile, tablemate "KingKong24" has chipped up to over 700,000 and is the clear chip leader in the tournament as five tables remain.

"steveeee" Gets There Versus Dodd

"steveeee"
"steveeee"

In Level 20 with blinds of 4,000/8,000 and an ante of 1,000, "steveeee" got all in for around 90,000 preflop from the cutoff and received action from Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd, who was under the gun.

"steveeee": {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Dodd was the favorite to win the pot and the knockout but "steveeee" was the one to hit one of their two live cards as the runout {3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Spades} gave them a pair of kings to earn them the double and leave Dodd with just nine big blinds remaining in his stack.

Get to Know BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro Katie Stone

Katie Stone
Katie Stone

BorgataPoker.com has a trio of Sponsored Pros, and one of them is Katie Stone, who has been active in the 2020 Borgata Spring Poker Open Online Series.

Stone has more than $176K in lifetime live tournament earnings including a career-bet $33,305 for finishing 378th in the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event. In addition, Stone has three Borgata Open titles including the 2018 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepest Stack for $19,337, 2017 Borgata Summer Poker Open $300 Ladies Event for $2,867, and 2017 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepstack for $9,484. She also recently won the CSOP Borgata Winter Poker Open Event back in January.

However, where Stone has really thrived is online where she’s amassed more than $900K in lifetime earnings. Of that, $146,954 has come on BorgataPoker.com where she plays under the screen name “KatieStone.”

According to a Q&A she did with the Borgata Blog, Stone was born and raised in New Jersey, but after Black Friday in 2011, she relocated to Rosarito, Mexico in order to continue playing online. When New Jersey authorized Atlantic City casinos to offer online gaming within state borders, Stone moved back north to New Jersey and picked up where she left off — winning!

Recently, Stone took the initiative to create the Discord channel “Poker Peeps Affected By COVID19” and invited those in casino industry affected by recent shutdowns to join.

“I realized how tough it was going to be for everyone to keep up with everything and everyone, with so much changing so fast,” Stone recently told PokerNews. “So, I messaged my friend Cy Watson, who has been very active on social media as well regarding Coronavirus, asking him if he thought it would be a good idea to start a chat for people in the industry to be able to connect with each other for help.”

She continued: “I think the main thing poker players and everyone can do is to keep an open mind. Understanding that this is unlike any situation any of us have encountered before, and so thinking outside the box can go a long way. Taking the time to improve a skill, or learn a new skill whether it's a game or something else could be really beneficial not just financially, but mentally.”

Though Stone has already been eliminated from this evening's event, she will certainly be around in upcoming events, so be sure to keep an eye out for her in the remaining tournaments in this week-long series.
