Pete Skyllas limped under the gun and Joel Frank raised to 1,200 from the hijack. William McAllister called from the cutoff and then Lyle Diamond three-bet it to 3,600 from the big blind.

All three of his opponents called and it was four-way action to the {10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop.

Diamond was first to act and wasted little time in tossing out a pair of T5,000 chips for a bet of 10,000. One by one his opponents all released.

"Are they good?" Diamond asked as he showed the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

Edwin Buskirk opened with a raise from the cutoff only to have Joo Shin three-bet to 1,800 from the button. Chris Caruso called from the big blind, Buskirk put in calling chips, and the trio saw a flop of {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Both Caruso and Buskirk checked and then folded when Shin continued for 1,800.

Shin chipped up to 55,000 after the hand.

Ken Goodkind raised to 400 under the gun and Keith Molinaro called next to act. Eugene Layne came along from the big blind and it was three-way action to the flop, which came down {8-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

Layne checked, Goodkind continued for another 400, and both his opponents called to see the {9-Hearts} turn.

Two checks opened the door for Molinaro to bet 1,600 and that did the trick as both Layne and Goodkind laid down their hands.

If there’s a good tournament to be had in the Pennsylvania or New Jersey area, there’s a good chance Lyle Diamond is going to be there.

Diamond, who is in action here on Day 1b after failing to make it through Friday’s flight, has $135,345 in live tournament earnings dating back to 2008. Surprisingly, he’s never had a five-figure score during that time. In fact, his career-best cash is $9,708 for finishing 12th in the 2014 Borgata Poker Open $400 Deep Stack event.

As far as Parx is concerned, he did finisher runner-up in a $230 NLH tournament here back in December 2016, good for $5,900. He’s also got a slew of cashes in the Parx recurring tournaments over the past five years.

If all goes well for Diamond here in the Parx Big Stax 11100, he may very well get that big breakout score he’s been looking for.
