Its Totally Metaal

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Govert Metaal checked the {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop to chip leader Jason Mercier, who threw out a bet. Metaal then check-raised all in for around 105,000 total and Mercier called.

Metaal: {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Mercier: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Metaal was looking for some low cards to help improve his hand. Lucky for him, the turn was the {6-Diamonds} and he hit two pair. The {2-Hearts} river changed nothing and Metaal doubled to 210,000. Mercier took a small hit and dropped down to 670,000.

The Rich Get Richer

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Action folded to Fernando Brito in the hijack and he raised to 12,000. After two more folds, action reached Jason Mercier in the big blind and he simply moved all in. Brito called for his tournaments life.

Mercier: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Brito: {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

Brito needed some help and his best shot was on the flop; however, the {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} was of absolutely no help. The dealer burned and turned the {2-Clubs}, keeping Mercier in the lead. Brito was hoping for one last fling with lady luck but his hopes were dashed when the {8-Hearts} peeled off. Mercier added around 70,000 to his stack while Brito exited the $25,000 High Roller tournament.

Alaei Doubles Through Affleck

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Action folded to Matt Affleck in the hijack and he threw in a raise to 12,000. David "Bakes" Baker proceeded to make it 30,000 to go from the cutoff. The button folded and Daniel Alaei opted to move all in from the small blind for his last 90,000. Affleck quickly moved all in himself for 163,000 and Baker folded after a moment of deliberation.

Affleck: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Alaei: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Affleck was in a dominating position but not after the {9-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop. Suddenly the tables were turned and Affleck needed to pair his pocket pair. He couldn't do it on the {4-Hearts} turn nor on the {7-Hearts} river. Alaei doubled to 220,000 while Affleck was left with just 73,000.

Racener Fails to Cross the Finish Line

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante
John Racener
John Racener

John Racener was all in preflop holding the {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and dominated by the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} of Moritz Kranich. Racener had been nursing a short stack throughout much of the day and desperately needed a double. Unfortunately for him the board ran out a rather dull {3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Racener was eliminated from the tournament. Kranich, on the other hand, is up to 226,000.

Akery: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

I Surinder!

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

On a flop of {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Surinder Sunar called all in for around 20,000 against Will Molson. Sunar was actually ahead with his {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} but needed to dodge a heart or jack to survive. He did so on the {A-Clubs} turn, but was cut down when the {5-Hearts} spiked on the river and gave Molson a flush.

Sunar was eliminated on the hand while Molson climbed back up to 220,000.
