Stein Picks One Up

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded around to Chris Oliver in the small blind and he completed the bet. Sam Stein was in the big blind and raised to 110,000. Oliver called and the flop came down {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Both players checked.

The turn card was the {A-Diamonds} and neither player put a chip in the pot, both checking. The river completed the board with the {K-Diamonds} and Oliver checked. Stein fired 142,000 and Oliver folded his hand.

Sowers on the Move

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
Mike Sowers
Mike Sowers

In the hijack seat, Mike Sowers opened to 85,000, and Paulo Rink three-bet to 238,000 from the small blind. Sowers called for a flop, and it came {9-Spades} {5-Spades} {K-Spades}. Action check-checked there, and that repeated with two checks on the {J-Diamonds} turn.

The {A-Hearts} landed on the river, and Rink check-called a bet of 280,000. Sowers showed up {A-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} for aces up, and it was good. He's moved to about 2.88 million with that pot, while Rink slides down to 1.4 million.

Palacios Doubles Loudly

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Under the gun, Bolivar Palacios opened to 115,000, and Max Lehmanski three-bet to 251,000 in the big blind. Action was back on Palacios, and he four-bet shoved for 1.485 million total. Lehmanski called for just over half of his own stack, and the cards were on their backs:

Palacios: {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}
Lehmanski: {10-Hearts} {10-Spades}

The {6-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {2-Spades} flop was a big miss for Palacios, as was the {9-Diamonds} turn. Salvation came on the river, however, as the {K-Hearts} ripped off the deck, and Palacios let out a beastly yell that could be probably be heard in Miami. He and his fans on the rail shared a very, very loud cheer at Lehmanski's expense, and the two men have essentially traded stacks.

Lehmanski has about 1.2 million left, while Palacios has doubled just over 3 million.

Hall Busts McCready

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
Aaron McCready
Aaron McCready

Aaron McCready and Galen Hall got all the chips in preflop and it was a classic race situation.

McCready: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Hall: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop gave Hall top set, but McCready could still survive with a jack or running diamonds. The {8-Hearts} on the turn gave Hall a full house though, and McCready was drawing dead. McCready was already shaking hands when the {k-Diamonds} rivered and he hit the rail.

Hall's stack was only slightly bigger than Halls, and he's now up to 1.2 million chips.

The turn brought the {10-Spades} and Moneymaker checked again. Oliver fired 590,000 and was met with a shove from Moneymaker. Oliver quickly mucked and Moneymaker collected the pot to win about a million chips from Oliver.

Sabat Loses Race, Eliminated

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
Eddy Sabat out in 30th
Eddy Sabat out in 30th

Mike Sowers opened to 85,000 from early position and the action folded to Eddy Sabat on the button who moved all in for 620,000. The blinds released, Sowers quickly called and the hands were opened.

Sowers: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Sabat: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Sabat's odds plummeted when the {8-Spades} appeared in the window followed by {q-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, and the hand was over after the {6-Hearts} turned. The {3-Hearts} on the river was only protocol and Sabat grabbed his things before heading to the cage to collect his prize money.

Sowers is off to a very nice start in Level 25, increasing his stack to 2.5 million chips.

Wiemes Out in 31st

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante
Wesley Wiemes
Wesley Wiemes

Wesley Wiemes was all in from the cutoff for 388,000. Max Weinberg called from the big blind holding the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}. Wiemes held the {K-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The flop came down {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} to give Weinberg a double gutter. Wiemes was still in the lead though and held both a king and a nine to block Weinberg's straight draw.

The turn brought the {K-Diamonds} and that gave Weinberg broadway. The river completed the board with the {4-Spades}.

Wiemes hit the rail in 31st place while Weinberg improved to 1.35 million.
