Wiemes Doubles

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante

Wesley Wiemes is sporting a short stack after doubling Michael Pesek, but recently doubled himself through Walid Bou-Habib.

Wiemes: {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Bou-Habib: {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop smashed Wiemes, giving him a pair of tens and a flush draw. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn did not improve Bou-Habib's hand nor did the {10-Diamonds} on the turn, doubling Wiemes to 320,000 chips and dropping Bou-Habib to 485,000.

Marcio Barbieri was all in on the feature table with pocket nines, {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}, against the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for Shayne Khanna. The flop came down {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Khanna took the lead. After the {2-Spades} on the turn and the {Q-Diamonds} on the river, all of Barbieri's chips went over to Khanna, about 500,000 or so.

Froehlich Gone

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante
Eric Froehlich - eliminated
Eric Froehlich - eliminated

Sam Stein opened with a raise and the action folded to Eric Froehlich who three-bet jammed from the blinds. Stein snapped it off and had E-Fro dominated.

Stein: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Froehlich: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The flop was a doozy: {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Froehlich began laughing, not only was he open ended, he had the only spade. Stein's rail called for a picture card and the dealer obliged, burning and turning the {k-Clubs}. Only a deuce or seven could save Froehlich and unfortunately for him the {j-Diamonds} was neither

E-Fro hit the rail while Stein's stack ballooned to 3.2 million chips.

Pesek: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

Pesek was the player at risk in the hand. After a board of {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, Pesek doubled to 1.3 million while Wiemes dropped all the way to 170,000.

Lewis Eliminated in Flip

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante
Toby Lewis (Day 3)
Toby Lewis (Day 3)

Toby Lewis and Chris Oliver got all the money in preflop for this race situation. Lewis was ahead with pocket sevens. He'd need to fade the five board cards against Oliver's {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} in order to stay alive.

The flop came down {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Lewis stayed in the lead. He even added a straight draw. The turn was the {K-Spades} and that vaulted Oliver to the front with a pair of kings. The river completed the board with the {4-Spades} and that was it. Lewis was eliminated in 34th place while Oliver moved to 3.2 million.

Rouah: {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Marquez: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

The board ran through {J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{Q-Spades} to give Marquez the win and send Rouah to the rail. Marquez is up to 3.16 million.

Golka's Goulden River

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante
Alan Gould - eliminated
Alan Gould - eliminated

Rafael Golka opened to 67,000 from under the gun and Alan Gould three-bet shoved for 471,000 from middle position. The action folded back to Golka who called and the hands were tabled.

Gould: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Golka: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop was a sweat because Golka held the only club and the {10-Clubs} on the turn brought him one more step closer to a flush. The river wasn't a club, but the {q-Diamonds} was enough to give Golka a winning set and eliminate Gould from the tournament. While Gould headed to the cage to collect his winnings, Golka stacked his new chips and is now up to 1.3 million.

Bergman Doubles Through Patchell

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante
Josh Bergman doubles
Josh Bergman doubles

Josh Bergman was all in for his last 553,000 preflop holding {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} against Joel Patchell's {8-Spades}{7-Spades}. Bergman was near the button and Patchell in the small blind.

The {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop was great for Bergman and the only way he could be eliminated was if Patchell went runner-runner for a straight flush. The {3-Clubs} on the turn ended that dream and the {j-Diamonds} on the river gave Bergman a better full house for fun.

Both players are now around 1.1 million chips.
