Elias Going Up

A player in late position open-shoved for around 20,000, and Darren Elias called near the button. The remaining players got out of the way, and the hands were turned over.

Showdown
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Elias: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, and Elias won the pot.

The very next hand, Elias opened in late position, and a player on the button called. The flop fell {2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and Elias continued for 6,500. His opponent raised to 15,800, Elias tank-called, and the turn brought the {q-Clubs}. Elias checked, his opponent took the opportunity to fire 28,200, and Elias called.

The {5-Diamonds} completed the board, and both players checked. The player on the button tabled {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a pair of tens, but Elias held {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for the wheel. Elias' opponent seemed very frustrated, but Elias remained silent as he stacked his new chips.

Chewy Binks a Double

Under the gun, Noah "Exclusive" Boeken made it 5,000 to go, and his next-door neighbor Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger three-bet to 10,800. Boeken called, and off they went with Lichtenberger getting a bit short on chips.

The flop came {5-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}, and Boeken let Lichtenberger bet 6,600 before check-raising to 22,000 total. Lichtenberger only had one move left, and he reraised all in for about 47,000 total. Boeken didn't like it by now, but he was committed to the call with a chance at the knockout.

Showdown
Boeken: {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs}
Lichtenberger: {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}

The turn {3-Spades} was a great card for Lichtenberger as it left Boeken dead to two outs. The river {5-Spades} was clean too, and Lichtenberger has doubled up to about 120,000. The hit knocks Boeken down under the century mark for the first time in a while.

An Epic Champions Battle

This hand involved Chino Rheem and Chris Klodnicki — a battle of two Epic Poker League champions from Season 1; Rheem won Event #1 and Klodnicki won Event #3.

On this hand, Rheem opened to 6,000 from the hijack seat and Klodnicki reraised from the big blind to 17,000. Rheem called and the flop came down {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Klodnicki studied for a little bit before acting. Then, he moved all in for approximately 85,000. Rheem folded his hand and Klodnicki won the pot.

Gimbel Makes a Misstep

Harrison Gimbel
Harrison Gimbel

We picked up the action on the flop in a heads-up pot between Harrison Gimbel and the gentleman on his left. The board showed {10-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {4-Spades}, and Gimbel had either bet or raised to 13,300. Mr. Opponent raised to 38,000, and Gimbel clicked it right back to 62,700 total with a minimum raise. The call came, and the {6-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Mr. Opponent had 80,500 chips left in front of him, and Gimbel made a covering shove to put him to the test. When the call came after just a few seconds, Gimbel sunk in his chair. He sheepishly tabled his {A-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}, and he was already drawing dead to the {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} of his neighbor.

Gimbel paid off his debt after the {K-Hearts} river, and he's been dashed all the way down to about 140,000 chips now.

Heads Up!

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Crack!

A loud bang echoed throughout the Imperial Ballroom, as a piece of a lightbulb plummeted from the ceiling. It whizzed past David "Raptor" Benefield's head, forcing him to duck, and fragments scattered across Table 45. Luckily, nobody was injured in the accident, including Benefield, and the players played the hand they were dealt then moved across the room to a different table.

The room has calmed down since the incident occurred, and hopefully that's the last thing that will fall from the ceiling during the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event.
