We're out of time in Level 20, and the 55 surviving players are taking a quick break.

Grippo Races Out

Nick Grippo began the day with about half the chip average, and he wasn't able to gain much traction in the first level. Just a moment ago, he got his money in before the flop, and he seemed content to flip for double or nothing with {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} against David Bernstein's pocket tens.

The board came safe for Bernstein, though, running {6-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} to send Grippo out off to the cashier.

Fitzgerald to the Front

It looks like Alex Fitzgerald has just taken over the chip lead, but we'll have to wait until the break to get a full round of counts.

The pot began with Fitzgerald raising to 22,000 under the gun, and he found action in three places as Kyle Julius, Artem Kachnyy, and Lawrence Greenberg came along to a four-way flop. The dealer spread out {3-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, and Fitzgerald continued out with another 67,000. Julius raised to 175,000, and that folded the two monkeys in the middle to send the decision back to Fitzgerald. He wasn't going anywhere, and he stuck in a reraise to 283,000 total. After a few minutes in the tank, Julius surrendered, and that nice pot should move Fitzgerald into the top overall spot.

Hudson Busted

Last year, Spencer Hudson cashed in 122nd place in the PCA Main Event for $20,000. He just went out this year after making a deeper run and earning a little bit more cash, but it wasn't a kind exit.

From middle position, Cristian Folescu raised to 22,000 and Hudson called out of the big blind. The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Hudson checked. Folescu fired 32,000 and Hudson check-raised to 92,000. Folescu tanked for a bit and then reraised all in. Hudson called all in for 330,000 or so.

Hudson: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Folescu: {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The turn brought the {9-Spades} to pair the board. It kept Hudson in front, but he wasn't out of the woods just yet. Hudson still needed to fade Folescu's straight draw and one overcard to his pair of jacks.

The river landed with the {K-Hearts} and that was one of the cards Hudson didn't want to see. It gave Folescu a straight to the king and sent Hudson out the door.

Kolev Four-Bet Ships

From under the gun, Nikolaos Alafogiannis raised to 20,000. Max Leonhard called from the cutoff seat before Martin Jacobson three-bet to 78,000 fro the button. Action the folded to Yuliyan Nikolaev Kolev in the big blind. He took some time prior to four-betting all in for 416,000.

Alafogiannis tanked for a minute or two, but eventually folded. Leonhard quickly followed him into the muck and Jacobson was back up. He requested an exact count on Kolev's stack, got it, then tanked for a couple minutes. In the end, Jacobson thought it was best to fold and tossed in his cards.

Wrang Out

The action folded to Jannick Wrang, who opened to 23,000 from the hijack seat. Yuliyan Nikolaev Kolev three-bet shoved from the cutoff seat, and the action folded to Wrang who called all in for 163,000.

Showdown
Wrang: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Kolev: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Wrang was well ahead, but the {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop game Kolev an open-ended straight draw. The {6-Spades} on the turn completed said straight.

"So sick," Wrang said the second the card hit the felt.

The {4-Spades} completed the board, and Wrang hit the rail. Kolev is now up to 420,000 chips.

Mattern Misses

Arnaud Mattern - out
Arnaud Mattern - out

We only walked up to the all in as it happened, but we'll tell you what we know. It was a heads-up pot between Arnaud Mattern and Alex Fitzgerald, and they had taken a {9-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} flop. The betting action ended with Mattern all in for about 270,000, and Fitzgerald was right there with {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}. Despite not having a pair, Mattern's {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} was a favorite with two cards to come, and the {10-Hearts} added even more outs to his arsenal.

Nineteen outs wasn't enough for Mattern, though, and the {A-Clubs} river means his PCA Main Event has come to an end. Fitzgerald, on the other hand, is closing in on the chip leader once again.
