Vamo Sanchez

Lawrence Greenberg opened to 26,000 from early position, and the action folded to Jesus Sanchez in the big blind. Sanchez three-bet jammed for 131,000, and Greenberg made the call.

Showdown
Greenberg: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Sanchez: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop gave Sanchez a leading pair of jacks, but Greenberg could make a straight with any ten, or a set with any nine. The turn ({k-Clubs}) and the river ({2-Hearts}) were both bricks however, and Sanchez doubled to 275,000 chips.

Greenberg slipped to 515,000.

Timoshenko Busted by "Pretty Light" Hand

Yevgeniy Timoshenko can't hold against Peters' "pretty light" hand
Yevgeniy Timoshenko can't hold against Peters' "pretty light" hand

Yevgeniy Timoshenko has moved all in a handful of times during Level 22, and finally someone looked him up; David Peters.

Timoshenko open-shoved his last 120,000 or so from middle position, and the action folded to Peters in the small blind. He tanked for over a minute before calling, and the big blind got out of the way.

Timoshenko started to smile, and looked at Peters who began to chuckle.

"I'm pretty light," Peters announced, turning over {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

Timoshenko tabled {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. "I was hoping for king-queen."

"Same thing," Peters responded.

The flop fell {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{k-Spades}, vaulting Peters into a commanding lead.

"Ten!" Timoshenko said.

The turn was four-sided, but the {9-Clubs} was no help. Timoshenko was down to one last card, and the {j-Diamonds} wasn't enough.

The two players exchanged "good games," and Timoshenko hit the rail.

Chevalier Drinks a Double

Danny Chevalier
Danny Chevalier

Under the gun, Casey Kastle made it 35,000 to go, and Danny Chevalier three-bet shoved his last 278,000 across the line. When the table folded back around to Kastle, he spent several minutes agonizing in the tank before making the call for about two thirds of his own stack. It was another big coin flip.

Showdown
Kastle: {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}
Chevalier: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}

Chevalier jumped out to an early lead on the {Q-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} flop, but Kastle added another four outs when the {8-Clubs} turned him a double gutter. The river was another ace, though, the {A-Spades}, and Kastle has been parted with a big chunk of chips. Big Slick work for Chevalier, and he's back up around average after pulling that double dip.

Semisoshenko Doubles Through D'Auteuil

From middle position, Phil D'Auteuil raised to 24,000. Maksim Semisoshenko reraised all in from the cutoff seat for 137,000. Action folded back to D'Auteuil and he made the call holding the {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Semisoshenko tabled the {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}.

The flop put Semisoshenko in the lead when the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} fell. The turn brought the {9-Spades} and kept him there before the river completed the board with the {9-Clubs}. Finishing with jacks and nines, Semisoshenko won the pot to double up.

Reynolds Departs

William Reynolds
William Reynolds

Under the gun, William Reynolds came in with a raise to 27,000, and Daniel Schmieding three-bet to 61,000 a couple seats over. Reynolds' response was an all-in shove for 211,000 total. Schmieding made the call for the majority of his own stack, and the cards were on their backs.

Showdown
Reynolds: {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
Schmieding: {6-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}

"Oh boy," Reynolds said with an air of nervousness. "This is just silly." Flipping for nearly a chip-average pot is always fun with about 50 players left in the PCA, and Reynolds and Schmieding were both doing some shifting in their chairs in anticipation.

The {9-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {2-Spades} flop was a miss for the at-risk player, and Reynolds would not be able to get over the hump. The turn {Q-Clubs} was close but no cigar, and the river {3-Hearts} was a blank, too. Unable to improve his two overs, the curly blond-haired pro sighed and gathered his things for a trip to the cashier. His day is done, and Schmieding is back to 600,000 thanks to the sixes.

Fitzgerald Five-Betting Kachnyy

From under the gun, Artem Kachnyy raised to 30,000. Big stack Alex Fitzgerald three-bet from the cutoff to 66,000. Play folded back to Kachnyy and he reraised to 150,000. Fitzgerald studied and got a count on Kachnyy's remaining stack. After a minute or so, Fitzgerald reraised all in. Kachnyy gave it up and Fitzgerald won the pot.
