Andrew Lichtenberger open-jammed for 11,800 on the button, Sam Grafton called in the small blind, and Ravi Raghavan grabbed a handful of blue T5,000 chips, three-betting to 52,000 from the big blind. Grafton re-shoved for 77,500, and the dealer started pulling the bets in.
Raghavan - who was in the middle of tanking - became confused, and the players requested that the dealer stop so that he could think, but the dealer proceeded. The bets were finally pulled in, and Raghavan returned to the tank. With about 75,000 behind, Raghavan would have to commit a third of his stack. He opted not to, folding, and the hands were opened:
Lichtenberger:
Grafton:
Raghavan winced at the sight of Grafton's hand, announcing that he folded ace-jack.
The board ran out and Lichtenberger more than tripled to 36,000 chips. Grafton chipped up to 105,000, and Raghavan was left shaking his head.
Level 10 is done, which means it's time for the first 15-minute break of the day. There will be a similar break at the completion of each level throughout Day 2.
Just before the break, Phil Hellmuth was eliminated. We caught the very end of the hand, but the dealer informed us of the rest.
Action folded to Henry Strasser in middle position and he limped in. Next to act was Phil Hellmuth and he raised to 4,000. Action folded back to Strasser who re-raised.
"This is the ultimate cooler I guess," said Hellmuth, who re-raised all in for a little bit more.
Strasser called with and had Hellmuth's in awful shape. The board ran out , ending Hellmuth's Main Event. Strasser, as well as the rest of the table, had left for the break while Hellmuth stood over the table and stared at it for about 30 seconds before taking his leave as well.
Mark Magee was all in at at risk preflop holding . He was dominated by Max Leonhard's , and the board ran out . Magee was eliminated, while Leonhard is up to 150,000 chips.
When we reached Table 17, the board was . Sam Chartier had 15,700 sitting in front of him, and Henrik Werenskiold - who had checked - moved all in for 52,800.
Chartier mulled the decision over for 30 seconds or so, then folded.
