The 2012 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final champion Mohsin Charania opened for 21,000 under the gun only to have Ramiro Petrone move all in from the cutoff for right around 80,000. The rest of the field folded and Charania made a quick call.
Petrone:
Charania:
Petrone was in a terrible spot; in fact, the PokerNews Odds Calculator tells us that he had just a 18.25% chance of winning when the money went in. That fell to 8.38% on the flop, and dropped even further to 4.55% on the turn. That meant Petrone needed one of two jacks to stay alive, but it was not meant to be as the appeared on the river.
George Clyde-Smith opened the action with a late positioned raise to 21,000. It folded around to Marcello Miniucchi in the small blind who shipped his short stack of 69,000 all in. Clyde-Smith called with and was against Miniucchi's .
The board came down and Clyde-Smith's club flush was able to send Miniucchi packing.
Owen Crowe opened for 23,000 from the hijack and received a call from Dimitar Danchev on the button. Russian Yury Gulyy then moved all in from the small blind for roughly 240,000, Crowe called, and Danchev got out of the way. Gulyy tabled , but it was way behind the of Crowe.
We'd like to say there was some suspense, but the truth of the matter is there wasn't. The only thing interesting about the hand was that Crowe didn't win with a pair of aces; instead, the board ran out and he won with an ace-high flush. Regardless, the result was the same as Gulyy was eliminated from the tournament.
PokerStars Team Online member Tatiana Barausova was all in and at risk on the feature table holding . She was dominated by Jonathan Roy's , and the French Canadian held.
Roy is up to 950,000 chips, while Barausova added just her second ever live cash to her poker résumé.
On a flop of , George Clyde-Smith fired 50,000 into the middle. Nicolas Godoy called and the two saw the turn. Clyde-Smith kept up with the aggression by pushing forward 115,000 in chips. Godoy still decided to stick around.
The fell on fifth street and Clyde-Smith moved an astounding 250,000 into the middle. Godoy counted out enough chips to call and pushed them forward. Clyde-Smith showed and Godoy shook his head and mucked his cards. With that hit, Godoy is down to only 340,000 while Clyde-Smith is sitting on about 1.53 million.
