Steven Stays Alive

Action folded around to Brandon Steven on the button and he shipped all in for 74,000. Shawn Buchanan, who was next to act, called from the small blind, the big folded, and the cards were turned up.

Buchanan: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Steven: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

Buchanan was ahead when the chips went in, but not after the flop came down {K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Steven paired his king to take a commanding lead. Neither the {J-Diamonds} turn nor {5-Clubs} river helped Buchanan, and Steven, who was one of only two players to bust on Day 1 and reenter at the start of play today, received a welcome double.

Quoss Can't Call

Fabian Quoss and Michael Telker were heads up on a flop of {3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Quoss checked, Telker fired 18,000, and Quoss called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, both players checked, and the {a-Spades} completed the board. Quoss checked a third time, and Telker fired 42,000. Quoss tank-folded.

The Odds are Not in Tsinis' Favor

Watch out folks, Ole Schemion is on quite the roll. Minutes after eliminating Vivek Rajkumar, Schemion has collected the chips of Arkadiy Tsinis.

It happened when got his stack of around 130,000 all in preflop holding {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and was behind the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} of Schemion. According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Tsinis had just a 22.84% chance of winning the hand. That dropped to 12.12% on the dry {4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, and then fell a further 6% of so when the dealer burned and turned the {5-Hearts}.

Although he didn't need it, the {K-Spades} paired Schemion on the river and he sent Tsinis to the rail shy of the money.

"I Don't See How You Can Lose"

In a blind-versus-blind battle, Max Silver got his stack of 78,000 all in from the big blind holding {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and was at risk against Christian Harder, who held {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} in the small blind.

"I don't see how you can lose this one," Jason Koon said to Silver from across the table when the flop came down {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Koon was quickly silenced when the {J-Spades} spiked on the turn to give Harder outs. Fortunately for Silver, the {4-Diamonds} was harmless and his pair of kings secured the double.

Harder Cracks Aces

Christian Harder
Christian Harder

Just before the level change, Christian Harder was all in and at risk for 165,500 with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. He was standing and ready to leave, because Max Silver had him crushed with {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}.

The flop fell {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}.

"What a flop!" Shaun Deeb exclaimed.

Harder flopped a pair of kings and a backdoor flush draw, and the turn was the {9-Hearts}, keeping the draw alive. The dealer rapped the table a third and final time, and spiked the {7-Hearts} on the river.

Harder's eyes ballooned to the size of quarters.

Silver didn't realize that Harder made his flush however, and said "Sorry."

He then realized that Harder made five hearts, and began laughing hysterically. Harder doubled to around 350,000 chips, while Silver was left with just 80,000 chips.
