Jason Mercier, Erik Seidel, and Darren Elias have all been eliminated.
On Mercier's final hand, he bet 30,000 into a pot of 46,000 with the board reading . His opponent moved all in, having him well covered, and Mercier tank called.
The Team PokerStars Pro couldn't beat however, and was eliminated.
Phil Hellmuth, Bill Perkins, Vivek Rajkumar and Zach Clark are the four players who entered the PCA10 $25,000 High Roller today for the first time. As you know, Perkins has already been eliminated.
Also, Olivier Busquet and Joe Elpayaa are firing their second bullet after busting on Day 1. That brings the total number of entries to 204 entries.
After Alex Gomes had raised from the cutoff, Timothy Adams moved all in from the button for right around 40,000. The blinds folded, Gomes called with , and Adams tabled the inferior .
The flop was no help to Adams, while the paired the board. "Just don't counterfeit me," Adams joked as one final request. The dealer obliged and put out the . Adams failed to hit his deuce and was eliminated here early on Day 2.
"All in for Perky!" we heard Antonio Esfandiari shout moments ago.
When we ventured over to the table, we saw that Bill Perkins, who just entered the tournament today, was all in and at risk against chip leader Vladimir Troyanovskiy.
Perkins:
Troyanovskiy:
The jacks held as the board came , and just like that, Perkins was out.
"You're our only hope, JG!" Esfandiari yelled at Jeff Gross. He then turned to Perkins and said, "Let's get the f*** outta here."
Luxembourg's Eric Theissen moved all in from the hijack for 32,400 and received a quick call from Anthony Gregg on the button. Both blinds folded and the cards were turned up.
Gregg:
Theissen:
It was a classic race, but Theissen needed to improve to stay alive. He didn't do it on the , nor on the river. That meant he needed either an ace or king on the river to stay alive, but it was not meant to be as the peeled off.
On one of the first hands played, Nick Grippo was all in and at risk for 50,000 or so with . Mohsin Charania had him at risk with , and flopped an open-ended straight draw when the dealer fanned .
The on the turn gave Grippo a flush draw, blocking some of Charania's outs, but the spiked on the river, giving Charania a straight.
Grippo is eliminated, while Charania now has 230,000 chips.
According to Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier's Twitter account, he busted on the very first hand of play:
Day 2 of the $25,000 High Roller is set to begin in 60 minutes or so, and your chip leader entering the day is Vladimir Troyanovskiy. Troyanovskiy, who made the final table of the $100,000 Super High Roller, won a massive, 280,000-chip pot on Day 1, when his bested an opponent's on a flop with two clubs. The turn was a brick, but the river was a club, and the Russian vaulted into the chip lead.
Other players who bagged large stacks include Mike Watson (282,500), Ariel Celestino (276,800), Shawn Buchanan (240,000), and Joey Weissman (237,200).
Day 1 attracted nearly 200 entries, and with Phil Hellmuth and Bill Perkins rumored to be playing today, we will cross that threshold. The plan is to play until we reach an official final table, but the ball room closes at 4 a.m. With 80+ players returning, it certainly will be a race to see what will come first.
