Somerville Chipping Up

Jason Somerville opened to 6,000 from middle position, Ariel Celestino called on the button, and Vladimir Troyanovskiy defended his big blind. The dealer fanned {5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and Troyanovskiy checked. Somerville continued for 10,500, and only Celestino called.

The turn was the {4-Spades}, Somerville led out for 21,000, and Celestino quickly called.

The {6-Spades} completed the board, and Somerville emptied the chamber, firing a third bullet worth 47,000. Celestino tanked for the better part of three minutes, then folded.

Klodnicki's Queens Hold Against Gregg's Ace-King

From early position, Anthony Gregg raised to 6,500. Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu made the call from the hijack seat, then action fell on Chris Klodnicki in the cutoff seat. Klodnicki paused, then reraised to 16,500.

Following Klodnicki's three-bet, action folded back over to Gregg, the original raiser. He put in a four-bet to 42,000, and that knocked Negreanu out of the way as he folded. Klodnicki took his time, then announced that he was all in. After one more quick peek at his hand, Gregg called.

Klodnicki was the player at risk, and he held the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. His stack of 177,600 was on the line, creating a pot of around 370,000 in this battle against Gregg's {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

On the flop, the {J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} fell, and Klodnicki held his lead. The turn brought the {9-Hearts}, leaving Gregg needing an ace or a king on the river.

The {7-Clubs} river card sealed the double up for Klodnicki, as his queens held up in the big flip. Gregg, who has made the final table of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event twice in his career, was kicked all the way back to under 50,000.

Reiman On The Rise; Eliminates Clark

Ty Reiman
Ty Reiman

Zach Clark was one of the few players who didn't play yesterday and opted to buy-in at the start of Day 2. That choice didn't pay off for Phil Hellmuth nor Bill Perkins, and now Clark has joined those two on the rail.

Clark's demise came when Matt Stout opened for 7,000 from middle position and was met with an all-in three-bet to 28,800 from Clark in the hijack. Ty Reiman, who finished as runner-up in the 2010 PCA Main Event, then called from the cutoff, Stout came along, and the flop came down {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Stout checked and then folded when Reiman bet 27,000. "You've got the goods, huh?" Clark asked. Reiman indicated that he did and tabled {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}, which was ahead of Clark's {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}. The {3-Clubs} and {10-Hearts} completed the board on the turn and river respectively, and Clark grabbed his laptop to go grind Sunday tournaments online.

Flush for Schwartz

Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst check-called a bet of 8,200 on the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop from opponent Noah Schwartz.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, and both players checked to see the {10-Hearts} land on the river. Selbst fired 14,800, and Schwartz raised all in for 58,800. Selbst took a minute or two, then called.

Schwartz rolled over the {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a flush, and Selbst mucked her hand.

Six-Bet Jam from Watson

Mike Watson raised to 7,000 from the cutoff seat, and Anthony Gregg three-bet to 17,000 from the button. Watson reraised to 37,000, then Gregg came back over the top with a five-bet to 59,000. After some thought, Watson moved all in. Gregg had about 160,000 left and quickly folded, allowing Watson to take the pot and move over 400,000 in chips.

Schemion Downs Haxton

"All in and a call," we heard a dealer yell. We made our way over to see a flop of {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and about 40,000 pulled into the middle. On the outside, PokerStars Team Online's Isaac Haxton had his stack of 90,000 out in front of him along with the {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, but it was behind the {10-Clubs}{J-Hearts} of Ole Schemion.

Haxton was in a bad spot and in need of a seven, but he would find none as the {Q-Clubs} appeared on the turn followed by the {Q-Hearts} river. Schemion gave a little fist pump in celebration as Haxton collected his things and exited the tournament floor.

Updated Chip Counts

Glantz Short

Brandon Meyers was all in and at risk preflop for his last 67,300 with {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. Matt Glantz had him at risk with {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop fell {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}, giving Meyers a flush draw, and the {5-Hearts} on the turn completed said flush. A meaningless {j-Clubs} completed the board, and Meyers doubled.
