Somerville Chipping Up

Jason Somerville opened to 6,000 from middle position, Ariel Celestino called on the button, and Vladimir Troyanovskiy defended his big blind. The dealer fanned {5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and Troyanovskiy checked. Somerville continued for 10,500, and only Celestino called.

The turn was the {4-Spades}, Somerville led out for 21,000, and Celestino quickly called.

The {6-Spades} completed the board, and Somerville emptied the chamber, firing a third bullet worth 47,000. Celestino tanked for the better part of three minutes, then folded.

Finger Shoves River

Ole Schemion opened to 8,000 in early position, and Martin Finger defended from the big blind. The dealer fanned {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, and Finger check-called a 7,500-chip bet from Schemion.

The turn was the {q-Hearts}, Finger checked again, and Schemion fired 16,000. Finger check-raised to 39,000, and Schemion tank-called.

The {7-Hearts} completed the board, and Finger moved all in for 80,000 or so. Schemion thought for 30 seconds or so, then folded.

Petrangelo Breaks Timex

Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

A preflop raising war resulted in Mike "Timex" McDonald being all in from the button for around 60,000 with the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. His opponent, Nicholas Petrangelo, was in the cutoff and held the better hand with the {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

The {3-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{A-Spades} flop was bad news for McDonald as it paired Petrangelo, although he did pick up a gut-shot straight draw. The {5-Spades} turn didn't complete it and neither did the {9-Spades} river. "Good game, guys," McDonald said before taking his leave. With that, Petrangelo is up to 255,000.

Schemion Busts Lichtenberger

From under the gun, Andrew Lichtenberger raised to 9,000. Action then folded to Ole Schemion in the cutoff seat, and he reraised to 22,000. Play folded back over to Lichtenberger, and he reraised to 36,000. Schemion went all in, and Lichtenberger called off for about 160,000 total.

Lichtenberger held the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for a big flip against the {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} for Schemion.

The flop gave Schemion the lead when the {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} fell. The turn was the {J-Hearts} and river the {5-Spades}. Lichtenberger's queens went down to Schemion's ace-king, and he was eliminated.
