Julius Sends Jetten Packing

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 500 ante

From under the gun, Kyle Julius opened with a raise to 4,200, not slowing down his aggression despite four-betting and folding to a five-bet shove from Myro Garcia on the hand prior. Peter Jetten was in the hijack seat and reraised all in for 42,300. Play folded back to Julius, and he quickly called with the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Jetten had the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and kept Jetten in front. The {5-Hearts} on the turn still meant Jetten had the lead, but now Julius had a heart flush draw to go along with his two over cards.

The river landed Jetten with a set of nines, but the {9-Hearts} was one of the cards that gave Julius his flush. Julius won the pot and moved to 140,000 in chips while Jetten hit the ral.

Paul Newey (Day 1)
Paul Newey (Day 1)

From middle position, a player raised to 4,000, and then Tobias Reinkemeier called from the cutoff seat. On the button, Paul Newey thought about his options and then reraised all in. The original raiser called all in for 49,100, and Reinkemeier folded.

Newey showed the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for two big over cards against the {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for the all-in player. The board ran out {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{J-Hearts}, and Newey won the pot to move to 118,000 in chips.

Newey is a relatively new player to the high-stakes poker world, but he is no stranger to being a high roller. In a recent interview with PokerNews' Rich Ryan, Newey discusses diving into the world of poker, improving his game, and much more.
