Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Andrew Chen
Andrew Chen

Andrew Chen moved all in for 162,000 and the action folded to Paul Newey in the small blind. Newey tanked for a while but eventually he decided to fold. Rob Mizrachi quickly called from the big blind.

Chen: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Mizrachi: {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and Chen was knocked out in 18th place.

Ami Barer Eliminated in 19th Place ($71,400)

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Ami Barer -- 19th Place
Ami Barer -- 19th Place

Ami Barer just took a bit of a bad beat to finish in 19th place, and it came at the hands of Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu.

Barer was all in and at risk with the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}, dominating the {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} that Negreanu held. The flop, turn, and river weren't too kind to Barer, though, as it came {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades} to give Negreanu the winning hand.

With that, Barer was off to the payout desk to collect his $71,400 in winnings.

Gruissem Adds

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Philipp Gruissem raised to 32,000, and Dani Stern three-bet to 81,000 from the next seat. Action folded back to Gruissem, and he called to see the {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} fall on the flop. Both players checked.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds}, and both players checked again. Then, the river was the {Q-Diamonds}. Gruissem bet 77,000, and Stern folded his hand.

Garcia Picks One Up

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Dan Smith raised to 38,000 from the hijack seat, and Myro Garcia reraised to 90,000 out of the cutoff seat. Action folded back to Smith, and he made the call to see the flop come down {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Smith checked, Garcia bet 70,000, and Smith folded.

Denisov Doubles

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Aleksandr Denisov just ended up all in preflop for just 88,000 and he was up against Ami Barer.

Barer: {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Denisov: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Denisov stayed alive. Both players are still very short.

Jaka Doubles Through Chen

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Under unknown circumstances we just saw the following board on the table: {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. There was action between Faraz Jaka and Andrew Chen, the former who tabled {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. Chen had shown {K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and his hand was not enough to knock Jaka out.

Jaka was all in for 128,000 and he doubled up while Chen is now one of the shortest stacks in the tournament.

Ease And Anxiety on the High Roller Bubble

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

As the High Rollers played into the money, the field split into the easy livers (Ole Schemion has two glasses of beer on his orange skateboard) and those desperate for their first cash. PokerStars Blog watched Paul Newey and Daniel Negreanu yuck it up as the former enjoyed his happiest moment in the game.

Cold Five-Bet from Vieira

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

To kick off the action, Rob Mizrachi raised from under the gun to 25,000. Play then moved to Philipp Gruissem in the cutoff seat, and he reraised to 65,000. Then action fell on Dani Stern, who had the button. He took his time, then put in a reraise of his own, making it 130,000 to go. Not to be outdone, Joao Vieira from the small blind had even bigger things in mind.

Vieira took a minute or so to study, and then stuck in a cold five-bet, announcing a reraise to 280,000.

"I think I'll fold!" was the laughing reaction from Paul Newey in the big blind.

Mizrachi then gave it up, as did Gruissem, and play was back on Stern. He took only about 30 seconds and then gave it up himself, and Vieira won the pot.
