Set Over Set

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The board read {4-Spades}{J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} when Joao Vieira went into the tank for a very long as he was facing a bet worth 135,000 from Mustapha Kanit. Eventually Vieira made the call after the clock was called on him.

Kanit quickly showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and he certain the pot was his. Unfortunately for his Vieira turned over {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and he took down the pot.

Apparently Vieira had caused some controversy as he was trying to throw a chips onto his cards during the tanking process. According to James Calderaro Vierira missed his cards and it seemed like he was making the call. Calderaro wanted to know what the ruling would've been in case Kanit interpreted this as a call and turned his hand over.

The floor staff ruled that in that case Vieira's only option was to call. In the end it did not matter as Vieira eventually did call with the best hand. He's back up to the top while Kanit's also in a good position himself.
