Feenstra Doubles, Julius Crippled

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Kyle Julius raised to 1,100 and Rens Feenstra, who ended 2013 in spectacular fashion winning Unibet Open Riga ($101,652) and the €1,500 No Limit Hold'em tournament at the Master Classics of Poker ($205,879) in one month, three-bet from the button to 2,700.

Both blinds folded and Julius four-bet to 5,500, Feenstra called.

The flop brought out {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Julius bet 3,400, which was called by Feenstra. On the turn the {3-Clubs} popped up and this time Julius check-called 5,100.

The board completed on the river with the {8-Hearts} and Julius checked to Feenstra again. Feenstra moved all in for 18,175 and after tanking for a while Julius called. Feenstra tabled {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and he managed to double up leaving Julius with just 2,300 chips.

A few hands later Julius, PCA Main Event runner up of 2012, was knocked out.

One of the more than 1,000 players to enter the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event was an up-and-coming female in the game, Ebony Kenney. The Florida native is here playing her first PCA Main Event, but it could very well be the first of many more to come if she's able to make a run and truly ignite her career.

While poker may be Kenney's main squeeze, she also dabbles in modeling and acting, and is a part of the World Poker Tour’s Season X Ones to Watch. Kenney nearly final tabled the WPT Caribbean event in St. Maarten last November. Finishing just shy of a final table in 10th place, Kenney bagged $10,500 for her efforts.

Recently, PokerNews' Pamela Maldonado had the opportunity to speak with Kenney. In the interview, the mother of two discusses her love for the game, breaking into the industry, and women in poker.

One for Selbst

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

With a paired board of {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} in the middle and a pot of about 4,000 up for grabs, Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst was up against one opponent. The player checked to Selbst, and she also checked.

The river was the {A-Clubs}, and the player checked to Selbst again. Selbst bet 2,600, and her opponent gave it up. Selbst pulled in the pot and moved to 63,000 in chips.

The flop read {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{K-Clubs} when Matt Salsberg, Greg Merson, and a third player engaged in a hand. Salsberg checked and Merson fired out a bet of 1,800. The player on the button folded and Salsberg stuck around.

The {Q-Diamonds} touched down on the turn and Salsberg knuckled the table again. Merson continued his aggression with a bet of 3,400. Salsberg peered at his cards one last time before dropping them into the muck. The 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event champion picked up the pot and now has roughly 90,000 in chips.
