Seiver Off to a Fantastic Start

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

We arrived at the table to find a completed board of {Q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} on the felt. Scott Seiver had a bet of 58,000 out in front of him and Antonio Esfandiari was pondering a call. Ultimately, he opted to call but then mucked his cards after Seiver rolled over two cowboys with {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.

The reigning champion raked in the pot and is now flirting with 400,000 in chips.

"Omaha" Hand

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Noah Schwartz opened to 2,700 in early position, and four players called; Joseph Cheong, Cary Katz, Keith Lehr, and Chris Klodnicki.

"It's an Omaha hand!" Schwartz said excitedly.

The dealer fanned {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, the action checked to Schwartz, and he continued for 5,300. Katz called, Lehr check-raised to 20,700, and the action folded back to Katz. He tanked momentarily, then folded as well.

Koon Over 300K

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The flop read {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

Jason Koon had a bet of what looked like 21,500 sitting in front of him when we reached the table. Philipp Gruissem folded, Timothy Adams called, and the turn brought the {4-Clubs}. Both players checked.

A repeat four - the {4-Hearts} - completed the board, and Koon led out for 28,000. Adams thought for less than a minute then flicked his cards into the muck.

McDonald Over Riess

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

Ryan Riess raised to 2,700 from the cutoff and found one call from Mike McDonald in the big blind. The flop fell {7-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {5-Spades} hit the turn. McDonald checked a second time and Riess fired out 3,000. McDonald came over the top with a check-raise to 10,000 and Riess tossed out a call.

The {K-Clubs} completed the board on the river and McDonald shot out a bet of 20,000. Riess went into the tank for about 45 seconds before deciding to fling his cards into the muck. McDonald picked up the pot and now has about 200,000 in chips.
