Perkins Takes from Peters

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

David Peters raised to 45,000 from the cutoff and Bill Perkins defended from the big blind. The {q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop saw Perkins check-call a bet of 35,000, and then both players checked the {5-Clubs} turn as well as the {7-Clubs} river.

"Three," Perkins said before showing the {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. It was good as Peters sent his hand to the muck.

Shakerchi Eliminated By Dvoress

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Talal Shakerchi
Talal Shakerchi

From under the gun, Daniel Dvoress raised to 47,000. Bryn Kenney, in the cutoff seat, reraised to 116,000, and then Talal Shakerchi cold four-bet to 275,000 on the button. The two players in the blinds folded, and then Dvoress took some time before he moved all in for 769,000. Kenney quickly folded, and Shakerchi called.

Shakerchi had the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and was actually the player at risk with a little less than Dvoress' stack. Dvoress had the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Time for a classic race.

The {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop kept Dvoress in the lead, and the {Q-Hearts} turn improved him to a set of queens. Despite his improvement, Shakerchi still had outs to a Broadway straight. The {7-Diamonds} on the river wasn't what Shakerchi needed, and he was eliminated. Shakerchi had started the day as the chip leader, but fell just a few spots short of a cash.

Dvoress collected the pot and moved to 1.6 million in chips.

Peters Busts Urbanovich

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

From under the gun, Dzmitry Urbanovich raised to 305,000, which was all but about 20,000 of his chips, committing himself to the hand. Play folded over to David Peters in the cutoff seat, and he reraised all in to isolate. Everyone else folded, and then Urbanovich called all in with the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Peters had the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

Despite Urbanovich taking the lead on the {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, the {4-Clubs} and {10-Clubs} followed on the turn and river to give Peters an ace-high club flush and win him the pot. With that, Urbanovich was eliminated, and Peters increased to 1.275 million in chips.

Perkins Picks One Up

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

From early position, Joe McKeehen raised to 36,000. Isaac Haxton called from the cutoff seat, Bill Perkins called on the button, and Nick Petrangelo called out of the big blind.

On the {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, all four players checked. The turn was the {3-Spades}, and action checked to Perkins. He bet 37,000, and everyone folded.

Perkins Knocks Out O'Dwyer

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Bill Perkins raised to 36,000 and Steve O'Dwyer moved all in from the button for 269,000. The action folded back to Perkins and after about 10 seconds of tanking he made the call.

Perkins: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
O'Dwyer: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and O'Dwyer was knocked out by Perkins.

Schwartz Eliminated in 17th Place

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

An extremely short-stacked Noah Schwartz shoved his last 66,000 preflop and Talal Shakerchi, who started the day as the chip leader, decided to defend the big blind.

Schwartz: {q-}{9-}
Shakerchi: {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Schwartz was well out in front, but he fell behind when the {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop paired Shakerchi. The {5-Hearts} turn was no help to Schwartz, and neither was the {4-Spades}. With that, the field is down to the final 16 and set for another redraw.

Dvoress Makes O'Dwyer's Head Hurt

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Daniel Dvoress raised under the gun to 39,000 in a hand that ended up taking well over 15 minutes, and three players called, Sam Greenwood, Anton Astapau and Steve O'Dwyer.

The flop brought out {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} and both blinds, Astapau and O'Dwyer, checked to Dvoress who bet 65,000 and only O'Dwyer called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and O'Dwyer check-called 155,000 after quite a bit of tanking, and the river was the {Q-Diamonds}.

O'Dwyer checked again and Dvoress moved all in for 235,000 chips.

O'Dwyer tanked for well over 10 minutes before he ultimately folded, leaving himself with just 240,000 chips.

Greenwood Races for His Tournament Life

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Sam Greenwood (L)
Sam Greenwood (L)

Nick Petrangelo opened for 40,000 and was met by an all-in three-bet to 399,000 from Sam Greenwood. Petrangelo made the call and it was off to the races.

Petrangelo: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Greenwood: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Greenwood needed to find some help, and while the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop delivered him two pair, it also gave Petrangelo a set. Greenwood was looking to pair up again to stay alive, but that didn't happen as the {5-Hearts} blanked on the turn followed by the {4-Spades} on the river.
