Baron Takes Some From Shakerchi

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

The flop just showed {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Isaac Baron bet 5,200 from the small blind, and Talal Shakerchi called from the hijack.

The turn was the {8-Clubs} and Baron checked to Shakerchi who now bet 11,200. Baron made the call and on the river the {Q-Diamonds} hit.

Baron checked to Shakerchi again, and this time the latter opted to check behind.

Baron tabled {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and Shakerchi seemed frustrated as he mucked his cards in defeat.

Haxton Tries to Club Terziani

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Action folded to a short-stacked Stefano Terziani on the button and he shoved all in for 11,000. Isaac Haxton liked what he saw in the big blind and made the call.

Terziani: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Haxton: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The {2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop was gin for Terziani, who pulled way out in front with trips. However, the {10-Clubs} turn made things interesting by delivering Haxton a flush draw. Fortunately for Terziani, the {K-Diamonds} river was a blank and he lived to play.

André Akkari
André Akkari

We're not sure how Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari got so short, but we do know he got his last 1,550 all in preflop and was at risk against Russia's Alexandr Komarov.

Komarov: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Akkari: {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Akkari was drawing to two live cards, and he managed to pair one on the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop. Unfortunately for him, his lead was short lived when the {A-Diamonds} spiked on the turn to give Komarov aces. The {10-Diamonds} river changed nothing, and Akkari fell just shy of the dinner break.

Meanwhile, former champ Will Molson busted to Brian Yoon at a nearby table.

Off to the Races: Jaka vs. Kurganov

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Igor Kurganov opened for 1,400 from the hijack only to have Nicolas Yunis three-bet to 3,100 from the cutoff. When action reached Faraz Jaka in the big blind, he put in a four-bet to 7,200, and Kurganov asked how much he was playing before moving all in. Yunis got out of the way and Jaka snap-called off for 35,800.

Kurganov: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Jaka: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

It was a classic flip, and Jaka was looking to hold to stay alive. That's just what he did after the board ran out a lowly {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}. Kurganov was left with just 4,700 after the hand.
