Jaffee and Sammartino Chop

Jared Jaffee and Tom Hall checked the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop, and Dario Sammartino bet 14,500. Jeff Gross folded behind Sammartino, then Jaffee check-raised to 36,000. Hall took some time, then called, as did Sammartino.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}, and all three players checked to see the {A-Clubs} land on the river. Jaffee bet 71,000, Hall folded, and Sammartino called.

Jaffee showed the {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a straight, and Sammartino showed the {K-Spades}{8-Spades} for the same straight.

Kornuth v. Komarov

Chance Kornuth was able to flex his big stack some more against Alexandr Komarov when he took down the pot with a turn bet.

Three players saw the flop for 8,200. The flop came {j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Spades} and the action checked to Kornuth who bet 12,000. Komarov was the only caller and the two were heads up to the turn.

The turn card was the {q-Clubs} and Komarov checked to Kornuth. Kornuth bet 17,200 and that was too much for Komarov to continue.

Foxen Gets One Through

After a bit of a downswing for William Foxen, he saw himself short stacked. He just shoved for his last 48,500 and was able to pick up the blinds and antes as players approach their second break.

Maimone Gets Paid Off, Kornuth Keeps Climbing

Chance Kornuth is flying up the leaderboard today. He started today with 210,400 and has tripled his stack. On this hand he opened from middle position to 9,000.

The action folded to William Foxen who called and both the blinds called. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and everyone checked.

When the {9-Clubs} hit the turn, the action checked to Foxen who bet 17,500. Maimone was the lone caller and the two were heads up to the river.

The {5-Hearts} hit the river and Maimone checked to Foxen. Foxen placed a bet of about 35,000 and Maimone snap called. He showed {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a straight to the queen and won the hand.

Double and Then Some for Shakerchi

From under the gun, Jason Wheeler raised to 8,500. In the next seat, Kyle Frey called, and then Brian Yoon called on the button. Talal Shakerchi was in the small blind, and he reraised all in for 42,100. Wheeler tanked for a bit, then folded, leaving himself with just under 50,000 in chips. Frey made the call, and Yoon folded.

Frey turned up the {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}, but he was dominated by the {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for Shakerchi, who was looking for a double.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, and Shakerchi doubled up.

O'Dwyer and Koon Down

Steve O'Dwyer has been eliminated by Jonathan Jaffe. O'Dwyer was seen exiting the tournament area and Jaffe was stacking his chips.

Jason Koon had lost a big hand to Ramin Hajiyev, which left him short stacked and shortly after that he busted.

Three-time Super Bowl champion Richard Seymour was all in on the turn of a board reading {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades} with the {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for the nut straight. He was up against Alexander Lynskey, who had been getting the better of him in several pots throughout Day 2. Lynskey had top two pair with the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

The river was the {Q-Hearts} and just what Lynskey needed. He made a full house, and that eliminated Seymour from the tournament.

Alexandr Komarov just doubled up after getting all in with Daniel Alaei.

Sam Chartier opened the action with a raise and Komarov shoved all in for about 80,000. Alaei was in the big blind and shoved all in with pocket kings, {k-}{k-}. Komarov needed some help with {a-}{q-}.

He got just what he wanted on the board that ran out {q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

Hajiyev Beats Koon With Aces

Ramin Hajiyev just took a big pot off Jason Koon with aces. By the end of the hand, Koon was left with a little less than 30,000. Meanwhile Hajiyev is now over 200,000 and has almost doubled his stack so far today.
