Zaichenko Stands and Delivers

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

As the players approached their dinner break, Andrey Zaichenko won a large pot after four players saw the flop.

Georgios Zisimopoulos opened with a 13,000 raise preflop and three players called. Pablo Melogno was first to act after calling the preflop raise from the small blind. He led for 17,000 on the {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop. Andrew Chen folded and the action was on Zisimopoulos. He raised to 38,000 and it was Zaichenko's turn.

Zaichenko stood up to get a better look at Zisimopoulos's remaining stack. He then raised to 65,000. Melogno folded and Zisimopooulos called.

Both players checked the {2-Diamonds} on the turn and the dealer put out the {10-Hearts} on the river. Zisimopoulos checked again and Zaichenko bet 50,000. That sent Zisimopoulos to the tank long enough for Greg Merson to call the clock. With about three seconds left to act, Zisimopolous folded.

Chance Kornuth

Chance Kornuth is unstoppable so far today. On this hand he was in the small blind and Nick Maimone limped the cutoff.

Kornuth follwed Maimone into the pot by limping as well. Connor Drinan wanted none of it and raised to 24,000. Maimone called the raise and the action was back on Kornuth.

Kornuth quickly made it 88,000. Drinan folded and Maimone thought for a moment before folding.

"I was going to say, if you shoved I was going to do something instantly," Kornuth said jokingly to Maimone as he was scooping up the pot.
