Team PokerStars Pro Fish Hooked

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Action folded to [Removed:17] on the button and he raised to 6,000. Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier then three-bet to 18,300 from the small blind, Yan moved all in, and Mercier called off for what looked to be 90,000 or so.

Mercier: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Yan: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Mercier was in trouble, and no help would arrive as the board ran out a dry {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Mohsin Charania raised from the cutoff to 5,200 and JC Alvarado called from the big blind. The flop came down {8-Spades}{6-}{5-} and Alvarado checked to Charania who bet 6,500 and the Mexican pro check-raised to 19,500. Charania moved all in for 55,000 and Alvarado made the call.

Charania: {7-}{7-}
Alvarado: {6-Spades}{5-Spades}

The turn was a {Q-} and the river a {J-}, sending Charania to the rail, and Alvarado up to 130,000.

Adams Doubles Through Perkins

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Bill Perkins just raised from the button to 6,000 and Piotr Franczak three-bet from the small blind to 15,000. Timothy Adams made it 37,500 from the big blind and Perkins moved all in, getting Franczak to fold right away.

Adams called, and the showdown went as follows.

Perkins: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Adams: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

"That's a fair fight," Perkins said.

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Adams doubled up.

Various Chip Counts from Around the Room

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

"The Good News Is It's Still Rebuy"

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

We're not sure how the action unfolded, but we do know that Talal Shakerchi, who if you recall finished as the Day 1 chip leader in the $100,000 Super High Roller only to fall short of a cash, got his stack all in preflop and was in great shape to double against Bill Perkins.

Perkins: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Shakerchi: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Shakerchi was looking to dodge a nine, but that proved easier said than done when the {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop delivered Perkins a full house. Neither the {3-Hearts} turn nor {5-Hearts} river was the ace Shakerchi was looking for, and he was eliminated from the tournament.

"The good news is it's still rebuy," Perkins offered.

Others who've busted recently and reentered are Anton Astapau, Cary Katz, Sam Greenwood, and Scott Margereson.

Volpe Busts Yan's First Bullet

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Paul Volpe

Before the break, on a {Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop we saw three players check and [Removed:17] bet 11,000 from the button. Only Paul Volpe called, and on the turn the {J-Spades} hit.

Volpe checked again and Yan bet 20,000 after which Volpe moved all in. Yan called to put himself at risk for about 60,000 total, and Volpe showed {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} for a set.

Yan held {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for straight and flush draws, but the river was the {2-Hearts}, sending him to the rail.

Yan reentered right away and he's back in now with a fresh stack worth 100,000.
