Patterson and Koon Tangle

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jason Koon has moved around a bunch today. Most recently he landed at Tyler Patterson's table and is sitting two seats to Patterson's left. On this hand, Patterson takes down the pot with a big bet on the river.

The flop was {8-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Patterson bet 8,000. Koon called. The turn was the {5-Spades}, and both players checked.

Patterson led out on the river for 13,000 when the {k-Diamonds} hit. Koon went into the tank. Several times he counted out 13,000 chips and held them in his hands, and several times he put them back down. Finally he settled on folding and Patterson smiled.

"Phewww," said Patterson as he scooped the pot and pretended to wipe his brow.

Taylor Paur
Taylor Paur

Taylor Paur was heads up to the flop of {10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. Both him and his opponent were in for 4,000 preflop. Both players checked the flop. The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Paur bet 4,500. His opponent called.

It didn't take long after the river hit for Paur to bet 30,000, and it took even less time for his opponent to fold. Paur has more than doubled his starting stack.

Lew vs. Lewis: Randy Lew Eliminated

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

PokerStars Pro Randy Lew was eliminated after Toby Lewis rivered a straight against his set of tens.

Lew started the action by raising to 700 preflop. Three players called, including Lewis. The flop came {2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and the action checked to Lew. He bet 850 and all three players called. The turn was the {a-Spades} and the action checked to Lew again. Lew bet 3,200 and Lewis was the lone caller.

The river was the {6-Hearts} and Lewis checked to Lew. Lew bet 9,000 and after some consideration, Lewis put a stack of 5,000 chips in. The raise was enough to put Lew all in and he quickly put the rest of his chips into the pot.

Lewis showed {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a six-high straight, which was good enough to beat Lew's set of tens, {10-}{10-}, and eliminate Lew from the tournament.
