The Bust Out Selfie

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

A certain amount of notoriety comes with success in poker, and with $25,239,801 in career earnings, Dan Colman has definitely had success. Earlier today he busted from the PCA Main Event when he shoved all in on the river against JJ Liu. Liu has had her own success with almost $3 million dollars in career earnings.

On this hand, Liu said she raised from early position with {a-}{k-} and Colman called from the big blind with {a-}{7-}. There was a bet and a call on the flop, both players checked the turn, and on the river Colman shoved all in.

The river was a {k-}, giving Liu a pair and she went into the tank for five minutes, she says. She also said that Colman called the clock on her. She eventually called and busted Colman.

The next time Colman walked by the table, Liu called out to him.

"Dan, can I get a picture with you?" she said.

Colman obliged and Liu snapped a quick selfie and said thanks. Colman wished her luck and was on his way to the rail.

The Old Check-Raise from Gong

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Eddy Sabat opened for 2,500 from early position and recieved calls from Poland's Jaroslaw Lipien and Canada's Jiachen Gong on the button and in the big blind respectively. All three players checked the {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop, and then Gong checked the {A-Hearts} turn.

Sabat bet 3,200, Lipien called, and Gong thought for a bit before check-raising to 9,300. That did the trick as both Sabat and Lipien released.

Robinson Sends Brunson Packing

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We found Todd Brunson all in for 8,700 out of the big blind on a flop of {7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. A player in the hijack called, only to see David Robinson check-raise to 25,000 from the small blind. After a pained fold, Brunson and Robinson tabled.

Robinson: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Brunson: {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Brunson was pleased to be against one pair, but running {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} didn't fill his straight draw.

Big River Bet from O'Dwyer

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Steve O'Dwyer, who just can't seem to do no wrong lately in tournament poker, just took down another pot and climbed up to 154,000 in chips. O'Dwyer began Day 2 with 31,400 in chips and has done very well for himself early on today.

On the {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, O'Dwyer and his opponent checked to see the {3-Diamonds} land on the turn, and O'Dwyer bet 6,500. His opponent called, and the river was the {6-Hearts}. O'Dwyer fired 40,000, which was a bet a bit larger than the size of the pot. After a bit of tanking, his opponent folded, and O'Dwyer won the pot.

Nasty Turn Sends Fisher to the Rail

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With 6,800 in the pot and a flop of {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, Juan Pastor bet 2,100 from middle position only to have Timothy Fisher raise all in for 10,400 from the button. Pastor didn't seem excited about it, but he made the call nonetheless.

Pastor: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Fisher: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Fisher got it in good, but disaster struck when the dealer burned and turned the {A-Clubs}. The {10-Diamonds} river was of no consequence, and an understandably frustrated Fisher collected his things before making a beeline for the exit.

Chidwick Isn't Going Anywhere with the Ladies

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened for 2,200 from middle position and received a call from the player in the cutoff. The {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop saw Chidwick check-call a bet of 3,100, and then both players checked the {7-Diamonds} turn. When the {4-Spades} completed the board on the river, Chidwick checked for a third time and his opponent bet 7,200.

Chidwick made the call, and his opponent sheepishly showed the {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Chidwick then tabled the {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} to win the pot.
