Sontheimer Wins Without a Showdown

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action folded around to Anthony Zinno in the cutoff and he raised to 2,500. Jose Gonzales called from the small blind and Steffen Sontheimer called from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{5-Spades} and all three players checked.

The turn brought the {A-Spades} and Gonzales checked. Sontheimer bet 5,000, Zinno folded, and Gonzales called.

The {K-Spades} fell on the river, Gonzales checked, and Sontheimer bet 12,300. Gonzales showed the {A-Diamonds} and folded. Sontheimer flashed the {4-Clubs} before he mucked and took the pot.

Huge Cooler Between Mandavia and Yaroshevskyy

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Ankush Mandavia
Ankush Mandavia

Ankush Mandavia opened to 2,300 under the gun and Seth Davies called out of the small blind. Igor Yaroshevskyy sat in the big blind and three-bet to 9,000 getting looked up by just Mandavia.

A {2-Spades}{j-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop was spread and Yaroshevskyy bet 10,000. Mandavia just called. The {7-Clubs} hit the turn and Yaroshevskyy slowed down, check-calling a bet of 16,000 from Mandavia.

The {a-Hearts} completed the board and Yaroshevskyy led out with a bet of 25,000. Mandavia moved all in and Yaroshevskyy snap-called.

Mandavia tabled the {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} turning quads and a disgusted Yaroshevskyy threw his cards down and pushed his stack into the middle. Yaroshevskyy's {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} were revealed as the table let out a collective gasp.

After the stacks were cut down it was determined Mandavia's all-in was for 74,200 leaving Yaroshevskyy with about seven big blinds.

Badziakouski and Big Huni Play a Big Pot

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

Faced with an open to 2,200, Mikita Badziakouski re-raised to 7,100 on the button. Chris Hunichen made a four-bet to 23,000 from the big blind and the action folded back to Badziakouski. The chip leader in the tournament shoved all in and put the pressure back 'Big Huni'.

"I usually never fold this hand," Hunichen said as he scratched his head. This time was no exception as Hunichen made the call and tabled {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. He was currently in the lead against Badziakouski's {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, but the {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop changed all of that. The {2-Hearts} on the turn and the {4-Diamonds} on the river were of no help to Hunichen and that was his second and last bullet of the day.

Three Barrels From O'Dwyer

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jared Jaffee limped in from the small blind and called Steve O'Dwyer's raise of 4,000. The flop fanned out {2-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Jaffee check-called a bet of 2,500. O'Dwyer kept up the pressure on the turn when the {4-Hearts} touched down, getting a check-call from Jaffee once more when he bet 7,500.

The {a-Spades} fell on the river and Jaffee check-folded when O'Dwyer fired a third barrel, worth 25,000.

Jetten Flops a Set to Bust Lauren Monosson

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Peter Jetten opened to 2,200 from the cutoff and Lauren Monosson pushed all in for 16,000 from the big blind. Jetter quickly called and turned over {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

Monosson held two live cards with {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} but was drawing slim after the flop came {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. The {9-Hearts} on the turn gave her some chop outs but the {8-Clubs} on the river sealed her fate.
