Haxton Gets a Fold from Luc Greenwood

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

There were about 70,000 chips already in the middle and the board read {Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} when we got to the table. Isaac Haxton bet 125,000 from the cutoff, putting Luc Greenwood, who was on the button, to a decision for his stack. After brief consideration, Greenwood folded, and the dealer pushed the pot Haxton's way.

Kurganov Chipping Up

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

The board read {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Steve O'Dwyer checked from the big blind to Igor Kurganov in the hijack. Kurganov made a bet of 32,000 into a pot of around 35,000. O'Dwyer called and the {6-Clubs} paired the board on the river.

O'Dwyer checked again and Kurganov fired another 32,000 as his time clock was running out. O'Dwyer quickly made the call and Kurganov tabled {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}, much to O'Dwyers dismay as he was forced to muck his cards.

Boeree Makes Quads to Double Up

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

The action was on Liv Boeree in the small blind and she got her remaining 41,200 chips in the middle against Seth Davies in the big blind. Boeree was already in front with {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} against the {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} of Davies and when the flop came {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, Boeree was in a commanding position to win the pot.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and Boeree locked up the hand by hitting quad sixes. A full double up early in the day was exactly what the PokerStars Team Pro was looking for.

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Ari Engel
Ari Engel

There were about 15,000 chips in the middle and the board read {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} when we got to the table. Ari Engel checked from the big blind, Steffen Sontheimer bet 5,000 from under the gun, and Engel called.

The turn brought the {A-Spades} and both players checked.

The {K-Hearts} fell on the river and Engel checked. Sontheimer bet 16,000 and Engel check-raised to 67,000. Sontheimer folded and Engel took the pot.

Aces vs Kings

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Dimitar Danchev opened to 5,000 from the hijack and Christopher Kruk three-bet to 15,000 on the button. Javier Gomez Zapatero made a four-bet to 40,000 from the small blind and the action was back on Danchev. He announced a five-bet shove for 123,800 and it was now Kruk's turn to play a little Hollywood. After asking for a count, and then counting his own chips, Kruk pushed the last of his 104,700 chips into the middle as well. Zapatero folded with a shake of his head and the remaining two hands were tabled.

It was no surprise to see two big hands, Danchev with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Kruk with {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. The board ran out {10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Kruk's pocket aces held up to leave Danchev with just crumbs.

Within the next couple hands, Danchev was seen exiting the tournament area as his run has come to an end.

Zinno Stacks Kempe on Day's First Hand

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Anthony Zinno raised to 5,500 from early position and Rainer Kempe, who had just reentered for the start of Day 2, shoved from the small blind. Zinno called to put Kempe at risk and the two players tabled their hands.

Kempe: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Zinno: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

Kempe was racing for his stack and needed help from the deck to survive. Zinno extended his lead when he hit a set on the {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, the {6-Clubs} turn and {2-Spades} river changed nothing, and Zinno took the pot to end Kempe's tournament.
